BUT I dont like metal models really so I decided to kitbash, and this is where you come in!
What are your suggestions for making some cool HG/VV models? My initial thought was of course to use parts from SG and DC boxes on normal assault marines but maybe you know something way better? Maybe you even have pictures of this?

And also I want them to look somewhat distinct from eachother besides their colors so any suggestions on a "theme" maybe? For example all HG use legs from Tac squad and VV use DC bodies etc.

You are not going to do much better than the DC and SG boxes. Perhaps using the Dark Angels Veteran torso/legs with the robes for the Honour Guard... that would certainly set them apart. Hmm that does sound interesting, I'll look for some pictures of the sprues so I see exactly what I get from it! Thanks!
