I'm not 100% sure this is the right place to post this so mods, please move it if it needs to be moved.

Today at my sons school I was approached by the Head (principle) and asked if I would be interested in running an after school gaming club for a group of year 5/6's that have shown an interest in the game, I was honoured to take up this challenge, and very chuffed that the school was willing to offer premises for free, with access to toilets, water and eating areas if needed.

They are prepared to pay for an enhanced CRB for me, and one of the teachers is willing to support me for the first few weeks.

I have downloaded GW Schools Club Toolkit, which has loads of useful advice, but I am planning a further meeting next week with the Head to discuss it further and wondered if any of the guys/gals here have had similar experiences and would be able or willing to offer any advice or nugets of wisdom for me.

Dont have a problem handling the behaivor side of things as the group will be supported by a teacher for the first few weeks.

It was more of the practicalities I was thinking about.

For instance should there be a membership fee, to help pay towards club paints etc. or should I keep it as bring your own for now?

Im also going to try to encourage some parents to get involved (other than myself of course) to keep a good adult to child ratio going.

I suggest running skirmish scale introductory stuff until they can walk on their own. You should have "club minis" for kids who cant convince their parents to throw their money away on delicate toys, and then allow them to bring their own if they ahve them.

I have a meeting with the school next week so will ask about funding a AOBR set.
