Here's mine:



It's "They Only Come Out at Night" by Edgar Winter. I don't want to know who thought it would be a good idea, to take a picture of a topless albino man with flowing long hair, women's jewelery and red lip stick. I

would be down-right embarrassed, if I had this album at home and someone somehow stumbled upon it.

I imagine the conversation would go like this:

Friend: Wha-what the?!? What the hell is this thing?
Me: Oh it's just a rock album by Edgar Winter, don't you like rock too?
Friend: That's not what I see I see a male albino transvestite, I don't care how good the music is on here there is no way that can be used to justify how creepy this picture is. Do you have some kind of fetish or
something?
Me: Honestly man there's nothing wrong with me, it just a rock album chill.
Friend: I think I'm going to be sick. See you later.
Me: Wait why are you leaving so early?
Friend: Sorry got to go, bye. (rushes out the door)

Im fairly certain thats Edgar winter himself. A buddy of mine always said that only the weirdest made the best music. And Edgar winter group made a gak load of good tunes. So I guess hes right lol.

My dad had some little feat albums, and I always thought they were a bit weird





But just google search worst album covers and prepare to laugh.

I like AC/DC they have a solid hard-rock sound imo. The best thing to come from that moment in my opnion was the Foo Fighters, Dave is oh so a better artist than Cobain.

I have alot more where those came from, probably will post when I find the time. The 'Narita' cover is one of the worst. I always thought it looked like a monkey crossed with the incredible hulk in red. It is just needlessly offensive. I'd be prepared to forgive it if the music was at all good, but alas, it is not so.

Metal is the genre of music I really like, but sadly the album covers are often poorly done, offensive beyond reason or just silly (see Manowar cover I already posted..), or a combination of the three. Are they overrated? Well they are certainly a band that people like to name drop (I'm looking at you radiohead), and they do have an obsessive fanbase, but that doesn't change the fact that they have written some great songs...

Disorder holds a special place in my heart. Once I was driving home from a friend's place at 1 in the morning, and there was a big power outage in the side of the city where I was driving earlier, so all the traffic lights were out of order and flashing, and some of the street lights were off and the visibility was poor. So Disorder's playing on the CD player, it's really dark out, and lights are constantly flashing on and off. Those kind of experiences can certainly etch a song into your soul.

Had a similar experience in a massive thunderstorm sitting in a car listening to Disintegration album.

I have to put that album on any time I am in a big storm now.

The album cover for GW's next leap into 'Metal', D-Rok Oblivion, which I had a vinyl no-less, was wayyyy better. The tunes were late 80s metal cheese, but it was a lot more melodic than Bolt Thrower. D-Rok broke up in the early 90s, but I think Bolt Thrower is still around. You can get the Realm of Chaos Album with different cover art now, but the marines look like some kind of Hong Kong knock-off art for $1 toys you'd find in a street bazaar in Malaysia or something.

Personally I don't understand the hate for Metallica because there recent albums suck, there's many other classic bands that release new albums that don't compare at all to their previous efforts such as Rush and Deep

Because it's easy and the internet is the perfect way for anyone to bitch about anything.

Metallica's latest stuff isn't as good as their older stuff, no doubt, but I compartmentalize them as a band, they lost so much when Cliff died and they've even said they wouldn't be able to re-create the past sounds with him, so they didn't out of respect. I personally like most of their newer stuff, I think they were interesting tangents in the history of a band that has done and seen much. They helped legitimize metal as a serious genre, unlike Glam metal (which is horrendous cheese, still good music, but men shouldn't wear make-up to look like tranny hookers, not cool ).

The whole Napster thing doesn't help, but I still think they did the right thing. As a positive side-effect to this, we now have iTunes.
