Gorbad Ironclaw Rules

That's pretty crazy OP. Heroes with double-digit and counting attacks just isn't good. And most of his mojo comes from a magic item, which isn't what the real Gorbad was, and it's kind of low fluff. And the real Gorbad wasn't a Black Orc, he was a regular one, so I don't see the afinity there. The real one has bonuses for regular orcs.

The Orc army in general seems to be very "low" point lords. It's a Horde army. Only Azhag is ultra high and he's sitting on a Wyvern so he's really "only" a 400 pt char.

Your Gorbad would be at least as strong as a max buffed Bloodthirster of Khorne, a living embodiement of the Chaos god of destruction. And this is just an orc. No matter how spiffy he is, he's still just a big greenskin.

If you want to make an uber orc, I think it would be fluffier to make them buff their troops. Like the real Skarsnik and real Gorbad. Grimgor is supposedly the toughest individual orc that ever was, and your Gorbad is vastly stronger.

Gorbad Ironclaw Rules

I'm curious, here: why change Gorbad? He's a pretty fly character.

The only things I don't like about him are his lack of protective goodies (which yours also lacks; 6+ Ward is basically none) and the fact that, in the story, his name isn't really mentioned beyond "it's his tribe".

Beyond that, I'd keep him relatively simple. A magic weapon. Magic armour. He's got to keep his "any orcs can be Bigguns" rule; I mean, that's what makes him Gorbad.

Also, why drop the "he's your BSB and General, out to 18"" rule?

Finally, I'd suggest keeping his stats pretty much the same as a normal Warboss, except Ld. He was a great general (for orcs), first and foremost. Grimgor is the one with the crazy stats.

If I had to put a point value on this guy, I'd consider three things:

1. His abilities will make him more expensive than the one in the book. More importantly, I don't think some of those abilities can have a price tag. They just shouldn't be, at all.

2. Even as-is, I'd probably take the one in the book over this guy. Army-bonuses are better than attacks.

3. An elaboration of #2: 5-600 pts spent on more Boyz would be better. 8th isn't about super-killy characters anymore. It's about big units and tough characters.
