Single prisms can kill GEQs or transports/medium armor with their different shots. Dual prisms can link to get the large blast MEQ killer too, and the focussed one is great for LRs and such. Use them however you need to.

Yea Fire Prisms are awesomely versitile.

I've found that I'm happier if my prisms are shooting at infantry though. If I need a bit more anti tank, I'll throw my prisms into it, but if I have the choice generally I'll go after the squishies.

Shooting at vehicles, the problem is you get one shot that can easily scatter to make the shot bad, and even if you hit the one pen hit will most likely just shake the vehicle; on the other hand, its the highest S value you vill get on a ranged attack.
Antitank is available in many forms for the eldar, but armour piercing shooting is far between. If you have two urgent targets -a vehicle and armoured infantry, I would use the FP gainst the infantry and direct WS brightlances, missile launchers or firedragons at at the vehicle. The template is god for many hits against infantry, but wasted against vehicles; rather go for multiple krack missiles against vehicles.

If people are silly and deep strike terminators against you... you can really punish them with 2 s9 ap2 blasts... Nobody likes to eat that with their terminators.

Pay attention to things that are t5 without Eternal Warrior (like harpies) The s10 linked shot will obliterate them, and with twin linked, you will likely get a hit.

If you happen to get your cannon destroyed, remember that you can still ram into things. Not only do Holofields greatly reduce the risk of ever being destroyed, but a 24 inch ram can make a great anti tank attack, and tank shocking is very useful against things like ork boys- to bunch them all up for a prism that can still shoot, or flamer storm guardians. Don't waste that av12 eldar skimmer chassis.

It has the same chance as a Brightlance to pen AV14 (and better against a Monolith), and then it gets a +1 to the damage roll on top of that for AP1, so it actually has zero chance of "shaking" the vehicle on a penetrating hit. It actually does something useful on a 2+, rather than a 3+ because of AP1.

Also, the Prism cannon has better range than fire dragon meltas, so you can tag something that you don't want to risk your dragons against. It is a wonderful tool in the eldar army.
