You've already been a ton of help with the painting and modeling articles, as well some ideas on how to build my army up.
I got into 40k through the internet(and it's really the least disgusting thing I've gotten into through the internet, if you know what I mean . Kidding.) and the Gaunts Ghosts series(I think Black Library is probably the worlds best marketing firm.). I bought Dawn of Warark Crusade early last spring and after getting the gak knocked out of me playing Chaos and Imperial Guard, I tried out the Orks and found my match, as it were. I guess the pleasant feeling of satisfaction slinging waves of pissed off green lunatics with axes at whatever pissed me off brought me back to the endless hours I spent playing Warcraft on my I-Mac.
So I gathered the courage to embark on a journey into something I knew nothing about and picked up a box of minis, a codex paints, brushes, etc., and about a hundred bucks later, I realized that I might have just gotten in over my head. But between this website and Youtube, I've managed to do a decent job of assembling and painting my boys, although I still managed alot of trial and error(did you guys know you could mix paint and water? It's called thinning, apparently.).
