Stay spread so that he can't hit more than 2-3 models with blasts.<br /> <br /> On turn 2, you hit his vehicle line with 10 fleet Assault Terminators.  Although he has a lot of potent shooting, very little of it can deal with a big brick of 3++ models.<br /> ]]></description>

Doing quick math it looks to be over though I am going from memory. <br /> <br /> Speeders or Multi-Melta Attack Bikes can be used to kill the tanks, if need be they can be reserved. <br /> Combi-Predators and Rifleman Dreads will can take down the Vendettas and then Chimera but it will be a tough shooting match. <br /> You'll want to multi-assault units with your Tactical squads hoping to keep things in combat. <br /> Biker troops might be useful, fast moving Meltaguns or relentless Plasmaguns with Multi-Melta Attack Bike support and you'd still smash them in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(58);'>HtH</span> combat. <br /> Combi-Melta Sternguard squads or Ironclad Dreads with Melta/Flamer can be used to break up his gunline and knock out armor or infantry<br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Well, no offense but he's running a reasonably lean list, while yours is quite... fluffy.<br /> <br /> I'd run your tacticals with melta, multi-melta (or <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(328);'>ML</span>) and combi-melta.  I'd take ironcalds, or <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span> dreads with heavy flamers.  I'd drop the vanguards almost completely.<br /> <br /> Adding stern guard wouldn't hurt.  Or <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span>/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(336);'>HF</span> speeders to keep the&nbsp;dropping theme.  ]]></description>

It would probably do you good do look through some general marines tactics threads and think about changing up your weapons options, not just against guard but against everyone.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I would say drop pod assualt is the way to go. Take Vulkan Hestan as your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> so your meltas are twin linked. Give everything a meltagun (not multi-melta) so it can fire on the turn it assaulted.<br /> <br /> Five ten man squads with meltaguns and drop pods is about 1000 points.<br /> <br /> With the last 500 take anything with lascannons. 3 Predators with Las Sponsons is a little under 400. 				<description><![CDATA[ At the competitive level, I tend to struggle against well played bike armies with my <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span> (which is about as typical and hated in its configuration as possible)<br /> <br /> Traditional, so called, 'balanced' space marine armies struggle greatly against my <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span>.  In particular, land raiders, tactical squads in rhinos, land speeder typhoons are pretty ineffectual.  Drop podding marines/ironclads and deep striking assault terminators that show the proper respect for my special weapons, and turbo-boosting bike squads with double melta and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span> attack bikes can take me apart pretty consistently.<br /> <br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Based on the models you wrote for his list, no upgrades other than what you listed, and not adding in any <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> unit at all: he is over 95 points.<br /> <br /> It looks like you may be fighting a 1750 list with a 1500 point list.<br /> <br /> 130+130+165+160+155+150+155+155+155+105+105+30(not listed but required to bring the 2 Regular <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span> platoon squads in Chimeras; add 10 more points if those were Vets without any upgrades)=1595, if he had a basic <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'><span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(338);'>CCS</span></span> that would be an additional 50 points for a 1645 point total.]]></description>

Next time ask him to provide a written army list with total point costs and verify it with the codex. <br /> You don't have to be an ass about it, it could all be an accident, but 100-200 extra points is substantial and leads to a very unbalanced game. ]]></description>

You want weight of fire and medium-high S weapons against Guard. The AP2 of both the Lascannon and Plasma Cannon doesn't really matter. Take a Heavy Flamer also, its cheap, destroys infantry and can even penetrate Chimera side armor. <br /> 3) Those Vanguards are really expensive and totally overkill against <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span>. Replace them with other units if you can. If you can't, your best bet is to try and get a combo-charge in by tying up both infantry and vehicles. Combat squading this unit will allow you to target two targets. <br /> 4) Don't deepstrike the Terminators. Deploy them on the board normally and start firing those <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(417);'>CML</span> from turn 1. You could even combat squad the unit into a shooting squad with both <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(417);'>CMLs</span> and an mobile squad with the Sarge/Captain. Target the Vendettas with the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(417);'>CMLs</span> and use the other half to shoot Chimera side armor/exposed infantry and/or assault units with all those power fists. <br /> <br /> Thats the best I can think of that doesn't involve gutting your army or buying a lot of new stuff. Tactically you have to try to get into <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(58);'>HtH</span> with them asap. Its the best way to stop their shooting and crush them. ]]></description>
