Converting Iyanna. Need Advice.

Ok so my summer started and now I get to return to some projects I started earlier in the year, but didnt have time for. I'm currently working on an Iyanna Ariennal model for my Iyanden Wraithhost army. Currently I have both the Eldrad Model and a Bretonnian Damsel on Foot model. (this one http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440036a&prodId=prod780911) I'm leaning more towards the damsel for the base, since she resembles the actual Iyanna in the 3rd ed codex more. However Eldrad is the one she'll be proxied as, as well as him already having the wraithbone armor.

Currently what I have planned for the Damsel is sculpting some wraithbone armor on her dress, as well as replace the rock at the top of the staff with an Eldar Witchblade (to make her characteristic Spear).

As for the Eldrad conversion, I....am out of ideas. I dont wanna trim away his head, and sculpting hair on it doesnt do much more than make him...well, into an Eldrad with hair.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm not one that likes to cut up beautiful miniatures like Eldrad and the Damsel, so I would like to do as little damage to the base models as possible (but I am willing to cut certain pieces off if needed).

Honestly, I wouldn't use the Eldrad model because it's a really old PoS (Don't get me wrong, Eldrad's awesome, but I would never use him as a basis for another model). In my opinion, the only cool part of the entire model is his head and you'd be removing that anyway so don't even bother working with it.

I'd say go for a Fantasy Sorceress of some kind. Personally, if I did it I'd go after the Wood Elf Female Spellsinger and then do some converting from that point. You could just mess with the staff, remove and redo the hair, and then the wood even adds a touch of "wraithbone" since Iyanna is supposed to be a ballin spiritseer/Boneseer. Hope that helped at all, sorry it had no options for the models you currently have.

Guess that means I'll be using the damsel then. This is her (the on foot one):

I'm choosing her over the other fantasy models mainly because I already ahve the model, but wont be using it in my bretonnian army anyways. She also has a cloak and long wavy hair, which imo suits Iyanna better.

Now I just need some tips for sculpting wraithbone armor. I tried it once but I cant seem to cut the putty without it lifting off her chest.

Swap witchblade for the spear, maybe change the helmet, it isn't too hard to change, Change the pistol for a normal hand, maybe the Dire Avenger one with the shimmer shield?
Why not this one...

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod1060019

Just change the head and weapon.
Re:Converting Iyanna. Need Advice.

Sorry for pushing this post back up, but I think I have a solution to the wraithbone armour.
Basically, you need to paint the wraithbone design onto the model, layer by layer, before you put the undercoat on. A thick paint is recommended as this makes the job quicker, but you'll still need quite a few layers before you notice the armour potruding from the model.Use as thin a paintbrush as possible so that any errors are small enough to be painted over later. Try to layer the paint on as evenly as you can, as this will improve the quality of the armour.

I'm currently making a jetbike Warlock by converting a female guardian. Here's a picture of my armour:

(I painted it in Warlock Purple only because it stood out against the plastic. Go with whatever colour you like, as long as it's thickly layered on it's fine)

Gives a whole new meaning to "girls with painted on armour"
