Brets work okay in 8E, you just have to work at it. They aren't 'point and click' anymore. They could use some tweaking, minor things in the main that could be FAQ'd. Please god no. My brets were born to kill nasty scary monsters, not ride them to war. Maybe if all our knights had heroic killing blow?



Personally I don't think bretonnaians are bad in 8th edition. most of their items are still useful and we can do the whole horde thing with our cheap peasants. they might be a bit overcosted for what they do but we have dirt cheap knights and multi-charing still seems to work.

Therefore, i don't think they will be getting a new book anytime soon. Like when the Island of Blood set came out and they had High Elves v. Skaven, I looked at the HE list and thought that he'd lose on account of the crap he had. Then I saw the Skaven list. Long story short, I didn't care who won because it would have come down to luck and nothing more.

The battle reports are more exposes of whatever is latest and greatest against whatever.

Please don't use the word "slowed" as a synonym for "stupid. Thanks!

I want the expose to be the best of what the new book has to offer against the best of something else, not just a bunch of random crap which sounds cool. I haven't had a bad time with the brets. They are also, as people pointed out trying, to get people to buy the new stuff. They are also often limited in what they can field as they pick from the in house 'eavy metal models that is of course always the greatest variety of models rather than a killer list. Also the DE armies have been more than reasonable IMO. Could do with some transports for the witchs mind.

Why Brets, because they have not obviousely been nerfed but are still under performing due to an old dex. They also don't, as has been mentioned, anything to easily kill monsters to my knowlege. Sorry I'm a bit out of date as I haven't bought a WD in some time, but flip through it every once in a while.

There was a battle report a while back with Space Marines and tyranids and the marine player gave everyone meltabombs. The guy wasted 40 some odd points on meltabombs in a game against tyranids. To top it off, the guy was barging about how he had been a marine player for 15 some odd years and knew all of their tricks. Tyranids won by the way.

There's a difference between "bragging" and "stating".
"Bragging" is when you come in and pretend you're hot crap. Saying "I've been playing Marines for 15 years and know all of their tricks" is a statement.

He used his 'general purpose' list.

The whole reason he took meltabombs was specifically to show that they do not stack the deck one way or the other for these games.
It was also to show lists that might be common in the current metagame, and how they'd fare against a new Codex pulling out all the stops if they were just the 'average' list.
