I find it interesting GW keeps shoving Brets against the new fantasy armies (on the back cover of this months), but there are no rumors about them getting any type of update.

Though, as most of the army is now direct buy only - it may not be as surprising as I am thinking...

What are they going to do with the Brettonians is another question I've wondered for a while. They're very difficult to paint if you want them to look good. They're ground troops are pretty crappy. If you don't get the charge off, you're hosed. Will the Empire just annex the place and have it relegated to Kislev status? Who knows.

At least then they couldn't screw up the army book by 'revising' it.

Brets work okay in 8E, you just have to work at it.
But then you also got to remember that some of the lists that those guys use in the WD battle reports are pretty bad.

Like when the Island of Blood set came out and they had High Elves v. Skaven, I looked at the HE list and thought that he'd lose on account of the crap he had. Then I saw the Skaven list. Long story short, I didn't care who won because it would have come down to luck and nothing more.

The battle reports are more exposes of whatever is latest and greatest against whatever.

Please don't use the word "slowed" as a synonym for "stupid.
