It's been quite a while since I posted anything on Dakka so I thought I'd start a progress log for my new project. After spending ages painting my Death Guard (which can be seen on my blog: http://miniaturemiscellany.wordpress.com/gallery/death-guard/) I fancied doing an army that was completely different to paint. The Eldar seemed like the perfect choice with their bright colours and clean lines. The main inspiration for the colour scheme came from the illustration on the cover of the codex which shows Saim-Hann Eldar in a darker red colour scheme than is usually seen. So far I've started work on a few Guardians and a Farseer. As I'm not very far along with the Guardians there isn't much to see yet but I thought I'd share a few pics of my Farseer. The photos aren't the best (the white has more shading in real life) but they should suffice to give you the general idea of how this is progressing.

@aightdude - The Witchblade was base coated with a roughly 50/50 mix of Regal Blue and Ice Blue. Thin coats of Ice Blue were applied to the blade to mark out the dark/light pattern. The light colour was built up using several thin coats of Ice Blue to ensure a smooth finish. Once the pattern was mapped out it was highlighted by adding increasing amounts of Space Wolf Grey to Ice Blue. Again, ensure you gradually build up the colour with several thin layers. I final sparing highlight of Skull white was applied.
