Seeing Infneon's P&M Thread, it inspired me to take a few photos of my Cryx models.

I've dabbled in painting tabletop models before (a grand total of 1 space marines and 2 Chaos Knights) but never taken it up as a serious hobby.

Infneon introduced me to Warmachine a few months back and I loved the Cryx models. Seeing as Inf plays a LOT of tabletop stuff I figured I'd get to enjoy the painting side of things while enjoying the game side too. Turns out that playing the game is great fun and also makes me want to build up my army. As I'd never painted seriously before, I wanted to get a good starting tutorial alongside a colour scheme that appealed to me, so after a few hours of browsing the net, I came across a tutorial by Wraithlord over at 'Heresy Online'. I pretty much followed his tutorial for my Slayer and then began to use those colours as the base for all my other Cryx units.

So without further adieu, In order that they were painted, my Cryx Models:

First came the Battlegroup Box Set:


Close up of the Slayer, this was the first paint job I did and my first serious attempt at painting a tabletop model, I wanted to do his front arc in a Necrotite glow, unfortunateley it looks more like lush grass so that's got to be re-done:





Then the Deathrippers and Defilers:





And finally I did pDenny:





From here I began to browse the forums for where to go with army lists, Skarlock seemed to be a popular choice, so I bought and painted him/it:







After this I realised I needed to fill out my troops a little bit, so I bought Bane Lord Tartarus and a Unit of Bane Thralls:

Here's Tartarus, I'm not too happy with the paint job I did here. He had a load of armour on him, and i thought it would be a good idea to make the armour the same colour as the Warjack's. When I trimmed the plates with the metalics it created a mashup of colour that stops you being able to focus on any detail. Down the line I may strip and re-do him:









So I moved onto the Bane Thralls, and decided to change the way I did the armour on Tartarus. I'm much happier with the resulting colour scheme:







From here I saw a Machine Thrall, and loved the model, especially considering it only costs 1 point:




And then I put together Epic Asphyxious. So far, this is the model I'm proudest of, I got the detail down on his head and I love the weight and look of him:










For the Eye I wanted to get a white bloodshot eye with an elyptical pupil. Didnt work out as I hoped so I just rescued it as much as I could and it turned out not bad.


My latest painted models are a pair of Pistol Wraiths, these were a breeze to paint but have turned out looking good:


this shot's lighting is a bit crap so the details a little lost.


I need to clean up all my bases and mark the front/back arc, Next on my agenda is Cancerworm. I've done his base, but the worm himself's only been basecoated. I'll see if I can post some WIP's of him as I go.
