My friends and I were chatting the other day, and I brought this to their attention and they all just shut up immediately. Until now, it didn't seem to cross our minds. Grey Knights and Inquisitors make sense for sure, but Librarians doesn't. How is it that they share the upbringing of their fellow battle brothers if they are just thrown into a chapter because they are psykers? Wouldn't they miss out on the aspect of the chapter being different from their culture on their planet, since they didn't grow up there? That said Ultramarines would take in very young psykers that are found within the Ultramar sector, Sallies on or around Nocturne, etc.

Most crusading chapters would take whatever psykers they find.

So basically these are sent to the fleet based Chapters that don't have a homeworld to recruit from is what you're saying?

They could be sent to the fleet chapters, they could be snapped up by the IG to be sanctioned psykers. They could be served to the Big E in a bowl covered with frosty cold moo-juice. A psyker born on an astartes controlled world may have a better chance of joining that chapter, but for a psyker born on a random rock the 41st millennium is a dangerous place to be. Yeah this is what I had thought.
