Generally speaking though, I just skip over what the troll has written. I also tend to visualize them as someone who is either morbidly obese sitting in crusty sweatpants brushing the doritos dust out of their neckbeard while checking their Digimon downloads and adjusting their Atlanta Thrashers toque or a skinny metal-head with an extremely huge nose, greasy skin, bad teeth lamenting the loss of their one and only girlfriend from 11 years ago, some fat, Hogatha-esque character in stirrup pants with crossed eyes. No wonder they are so angry and fed up with the world that they have to get on the web and pick fights with people who are gullible enough to engage them in any kind of discourse. I ignore them but I do take it personally if it's response to something i've said, especially as i made it goal to be only positive on dakka and try and spread the love..not hate, but it seems some of those are just so full of themselves they can't help it. I ignore them, especially on forums where trolls are friends with moderators.
Or even worse, where the trolls eventually become moderators. I dropped out of one forum a few years ago because I had someone trolling and haranguing me less than a month after I joined. Last year I peeked at that forum's rumor section briefly and discovered that the horrible troll was now a moderator there.
