Good Samaritan murdered for his troubles.

Yeah, thats what you get for being a good samaritan, I remember when i was young and idealistic (stupid) I once jumped on a guy in the street in Middlesbrough cos he clipped his missus outside a bar, i punched him twice, then the bitch hit me over the head with her shoe, and i had to flee up the street because I didnt want to hit her as well!

Of course, I was young and stupid then, I wouldnt get involved now im a man grown. If i see people fighting I walk on by. The woman should have the sense to get the feth away from a guy that acts like that, but they never do.

Anyway, this story Is not quite as bad as .. well, i remember the case because I ranted about is so much... lemme check google.

......

Here it is!

http://www.politics.co.uk/news/children-and-family/social-service-criticism-continues-as-foster-child-rapes-baby-$1274032.htm

Yeah, be a good egg and foster a troubled teen, he then rapes your two year old. Seriously.. read that story. I especially like

"Vale of Glamorgan council has launched an internal investigation after admitting a "serious error of judgement" which saw the 18-year-old housed under its adult placement service."

Charity begins at home. The most Ill do these days is help an old lady pick up her shopping up if she drops it. Intervening in fights is for young (stupid) people.

Since we are are telling good sarmirtan stories heres mine.

Walking home post Christmas Eve Lock-in at the Red Lion I hear a woman screaming from a side street. Despite working for 4 years as a bouncer I should have knwon better but emboldened by my refreshed state I went to investigate and found a couple happily walking towards me. I enquired whether they had heard said screaming and they said they had not, happy that I had missheard I went on my way home.

Not 10 yeards away the female state abusing me for suggesting (appearantly?) that he boyfriend had been beating her? I chuckled, ignored them and carried on walking away. They must have followed me for some 100 yrads when the bint (for she was) ran infront of me to remonstrate again. I moved her out of my way at which point I was punched in the back of the head and bundled over and then punched again as I stood up.

Now I'm 6'4" and over 20 stone (300 pounds?), now this Christmas story did not end too well for the feller and I ended up with a cut hand (contrived to punch the floor somehow?) and a slight shiner. Still an interesting tale for the new girlfirend and family over Chrimbo dinner.

Womin ain't nuttin but trouble!

The standard training for CHLs is that you do not intervene, you call the police.
1. You don't know what the full story is. the guy you just spotted getting run down and attacked by three dudes may be a mugger that they just chased from a crime.
2. Domestic stuff even cops hate. Often the beat on party will react agreessively towards aid like Matty's story.

American cops have these revolutionary guns-my hunting friends (who are cops) described them to me. They have this new feature called "safety on the trigger". The safety of the gun is built right into the trigger, so it's real easy to switch off. All you have to do is shoot off a round!

But seriously, really? No guns, no tasers, nothing? why not give them some nerf guns and tell them that they can only crawl on their hands & knees after criminals? I mean, don't your criminals have guns? Do they at least get body armor?

They get tasers, just not in any large quantity. As for armour, I believe it's mainly just stab-proof vests, unsure if they're outfitted with bulletproof vests uless they're Armed Response units.

Our criminals also have guns, which is why the main aim of the Police here is prevention. It wouldn't work in the US because it is huge, but the UK is so small that prevention schemes are more effective due to criminals having nowhere they can run unless they resort to fleeing the country, at which point they cease to be our problem.

(I'm 90% that I'm making a joke-UK policemen do carry something more than a billy club, right?)

More guys are being given tasers, but on the whole, the most our bobbies can do is run after people and shout "Stop!".

Although there is a reason why we don't just hand out tasers

That not the only reason i find. For example:
Out at a nightclub last year, we went outside for a smoke and there were 2 Armed Response Jeeps outside (the club is downstairs so we hadn't seen them) with an Ambulance in tow. I asked around and it turns out one of the guys in the club was a criminal on the run so the police had been called. The reason for the Ambulance was that while 'restraining' him (read: tazing), they had tazed him in the throat so badly he had stopped breathing.
Our Cops dont get enough training with tazers it appears, but they are allowed to carry Mp5's

@Fraz, if only! I nearly got arrested for carrying a cane to a Dress-up Party because it was an 'offensive weapon'

So sword and gun canes are out then?
What about people who need, you know, canes?

Yeah, 'concealed weapons' and all that (unfortunately, because i would love a sword cane)
apparently that is fine (this is the argument i brought up with the policeman, ie part 2 of why i nearly got arrested (he was not amused).

The Foot wrote:Maybe you can get a permit/licence for it?

That would be hilarious!
(i am assuming you are replying in response to the whole cane issue btw)
