The Hidden Ones CSM + Cultists

Back in 2nd edition when shooting into melee was Kosher my favorite unit in the game was my chaos cultists. At first I used necromunda gangs, but it wasn't enough cultists so I purchased a lot of GEQ models that I purchased with the original intent of using as chaos cultists back in 3rd edition. I ended up going into a several year hiatus and ended up missing almost all of 4th edition only to come back to the game to find out that chaos cultists have joined squads in the realm of the lost and the damned. At that point I began converting my cultists into IG so I could use them for something and found that I do enjoy playing them as infantry, but I missed having the mix of MEQ and GEQ in the same army. Then the GK codex came out, and once again for the first time in years there became a way to mix MEQ and GEQ together again.

Found some bits online to help bring my a conversion idea of mine into a real project. Egyptian themed heads and shoulder pads from Scribor + Vibro Khopesh/Glaives from Kromlech + Thousand sons bits and the first of my prototype GKs are finished. Thus far I am very happy with the way they look, especially when mixed in with my GEQ units on a desert basing.

Anyhow here are the first 2 MEQ prototypes along with the some of the GEQ I would use as henchmen. Robed figures would be Purifiers, non robed figures would be strike squads or interceptors if I were to add a disc of Tzeentch.

Basing scheme

GEQ finished a few months ago

Anyhow the real debate now is between proceeding with building GEQ cultists for a PAGK + Henchmen footslogging army, or build IG vehicles and stay IG.

The project is going to be giant because it's actually building 2 armies at the same time. I'm going to be magnetizing boltguns and flashlights to the guardsmen/henchmen/cultists. The plan is to finish the GK army first, and then buy IG vehicles for a pretty much standard mech IG army. Henchmen Psykers can double as IG PBS, and I only have to paint an army once to get 2 armies.

Re:The Hidden Ones CSM + Cultists (2nd batch of psykers/PBS 6/6)

8 more psykers finished for 12 total, well 99% finished. They need a tiny bit of highland brush on the base, but I want to hit them up with purity seal 1st and the weather is too cold to risk spraying sealer today.
Weather picked up so I was able to purity seal all my GEQ and add some highland brush to the bases. Right now my big debate is if I want to pick up more. I'm thinking of grabbing a few more pieces for a terrain set at home that would double as pieces for a portable diorama.
