The demand is there why not a release???

Just wondered as there seem to be many many people on here with quite a solid base of business knowledge. We have all seen the many many many many many threads on various forums concerning Warhammer Quest adn Squats. People are screaming for them to come back in some way or form. Why if you had so much popular demand would GW not cash in on that. I do firmly beleive that they will do a space hulk type re release of warhammer quest as its basically negelctful of the warhammer realm for them not to do this. Especially as I don't think anyone was crying out for a space hulk re release in nearly the numbers that they do for quest. Now I honestly think they will never bring back the squats as much as it saddens me that they have been essentialyl forgotten and cast from memory in the 40k fluff from what I have noticed (please correct me if I am wrong and direct me to reference of them if there is any please).

Simple discussion lets not get angry about it. This is not an I want squats/quest back thread. This is a discussion as to the logistics and pros and cons of doing such a thing.

that is a fair point, it easy to think that the demand is higher when you see it from a forum full of old faithful gamers, does not mean its a true call of the masses. If you think there is, it simply means you're a victim of confirmation bias.

Also, making a new product line is a HUGE investment that you're simply not considering. With what I know of plastic injection molding, just making the dies for basics, two kinds of troops, a heavy, a fast (and then do elites and HQ in metal) would cost more than half a million US$, and that's only going with the bare minimum. They might even have to get a new injection molder to accommodate the additional production. That's a hell of a significant investment for something not many people particularly want.

You want squats, get in touch with him for the real ones, any other kind of rerelease will end up looking like Gak. There are numbers of them stillout there from back i9in the day, and there is no reason for you to give GW any sort of ideas. They know all, they see all.

pfft.

As for Warhammer Quest? I give it a few months before we see it out there as a bone to throw at the fans that they are losing as the weeks go by over thier bullgak. Rememeber, this is the company that is pulling the same trick that Mongoose did with Starship Troopers, and learning the same lessions the hard way on how to how to win fans and influence people.

As for "Bringing Back..." In all honest, the sculpers are the ones that developed the miniatures. The "GW Hobby" floats on thier backs on thier work. Find the specific sculper that appeals to you and keep them in business, because at the end of the day, GW is a rotting shell that forgot where they came from.

Go here for your space dwarf love.

http://www.olleysarmies.co.uk/home.html

Warhammer Quest is out there on the web. Burn off your copy and go hunt down the minis. People have them cheap, and they are readily available.

http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=ie7&q=warhammer+Quest&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-Address&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&rlz=1I7TSNA_enDE388

Warhammer Quest would need to be totally redone. The printing technology is different, so they'd have to start from scratch working up the game.
2. The molds for the miniatures may or may not still be usable and have to be redone.
3. SpaceHulk had a very long lead time. They might be working on it, and we won't know for a year or so.
4. Pricepoint on the set will be high, as it was a hefty box with a ton of miniatures. It might sell well, or they might have a ton left over.
5. Fantasy Flight may have the rights for games like that. Not sure how their agreement reads.
6. Despite some demand, they may deem it not enough to commit the resources.

Despit people having nostoalgia about the squats:
1. Molds are certainly bad, and would need to be redone.
2. Models need redoing, as some are ok, and some arent.
3. They need a hell of a lot more than infantry and trikes, to make them a viable army. There may not be anyone at GW that has a clear idea of where to go with the squats.
4. They may not think them a viable army that will sell enough to just ify the army.

These are answers as to why GW may not want to do the projects, based on talks with a lot of guys.
