				<description><![CDATA[ another of my 2.4k attempts<br /> <br /> <br /> <b>Lord - Spellweaver</b> - 295pts<br />  - level 4 wizard<br />  - lore of life<br />  - dispel scroll<br />  - elynett's brooch (her unit re-rolls psychology)<br /> <br /> <i>i figure that if i'm relying on a single, T3, no save bunker unit that buffing the be-jesus out of it can only be a good thing!!!  plus the lore of life will help the other units as well as potentially ruin opposing units with dwellers <img src="/s/i/a/baf5f2e54c6b17d5c5d39aecadfa1272.gif" border="0"> </i><br /> <br /> <b>Core - 30 Glade Guard</b> - 399pts<br />  - full command<br />  - banner of eternal flame<br /> <br /> <i>i have had to run at this unit with my warriors of chaos before and i was quite impressed at the damage they can put out (especially when you get to half range!!!).  flaming banner is just to help against hydras and to re-roll wounds in buildings.</i><br /> <br /> Core - 5 glade riders - 120pts<br /> <br /> Core - 5 glade riders - 120pts<br /> <br /> <i>kinda put them in becuase if i do this army i will be getting a couple of battallions.  that said though, they are a nice distraction and screen unit (just quite expensive for THAT task...)</i><br /> <br /> <b>Core - 20 dryads</b> - 240pts<br /> <br /> <b>Core - 20 dryads </b>- 240pts<br /> <br /> <i>these guys are a steal for their points and i like my big hefty units <img src="/s/i/a/baf5f2e54c6b17d5c5d39aecadfa1272.gif" border="0">  they pack a nice punch at a massive initiative!!  i cant wait to see a unit of these with +4 toughness or something from the spellweaver as well....</i><br /> <br /> <b>Special - 10 Wild Riders</b> - 296pts<br />  - full command<br /> <br /> <i>i've always been a fan of the models, only used small 5 man units in the old edition so I thought i'd try them again.  not bad as a hitting unit but it had best be a weak-ish opponent to stop them dying themselves...</i><br /> <br /> <b>Special - 6 tree kin</b> - 390pts<br /> <br /> <i>evil.  simply evil.  one of the only reliable hard hitters the wood elves have (i dont like treemen, after i spent a day putting a badly moulded metal one together it fled every chance it got when i used it <img src="/s/i/a/7ae18ba11c7ba79f6898e876a4b8ba4a.gif" border="0"> )</i><br /> <br /> <b>rare - 8 waywatchers</b> - 200pts<br />  - sentinel<br /> <br /> <i>i'm a big fan of the models and i always love following units of chaos/empire knights with them <img src="/s/i/a/baf5f2e54c6b17d5c5d39aecadfa1272.gif" border="0"></i><br /> <br /> <b>Rare - great eagle</b> - 50pts<br /> <br /> <b>Rare - great eagle </b>- 50pts<br /> <br /> <i>among the best warmachine hunters money can get. make a nice fanatic magnet in the absence of them as well.</i><br /> <br /> <br /> Army Total - 2400pts, any thoughts?]]></description>

I personally like running a highborne with  the 2+ after dropping to 1 wound item <img src="/s/i/a/39ea8e0dbfb45dcc6b802cd0e198dba3.gif" border="0"> using that with netlings of annoyance and helm of the hunt (possibly giving him the uh... thing that gives him 9 movement but keeps him out of units... using him to hit and tie up by challenging hopefully for a large part of the game <img src="/s/i/a/39ea8e0dbfb45dcc6b802cd0e198dba3.gif" border="0">) ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ many thanks!<br /> <br /> wood elves seem to have the "weak army" badge pinned to them............. which only makes me want to use them MORE <img src="/s/i/a/baf5f2e54c6b17d5c5d39aecadfa1272.gif" border="0"><br /> my local gamers told me that ogres were a "weak" army in the previous edition - they shut up when i got 3 wins at <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(48);'>GT</span> with them after using the army for 3 months <img src="/s/i/a/baf5f2e54c6b17d5c5d39aecadfa1272.gif" border="0"><br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> i always used to have the alter kindred with bow of loren and arcane bodkins (now with a few defensive bits as well!!), i might consider swapping the wild riders for him and another small unit of something....<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> this is the only list of the 3 i've posted so far to get replies though <img src="/s/i/a/dec8d79950a36218cfae9200a43fa59f.gif" border="0"><br /> i've got more lists to upload (bretts going up in a bit) and would like feedback on all of them..... anyone know how i can post links to them?]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Nice mix of Units and you clearly know what works, I would most definitely get the Alter Noble with the Bow of Loren and Arcane Bodkins, it is simply devastating. <br /> <br /> I can see your reason for the Glade Riders (you have em why not use them) but I feel dropping them for more Treekin is the way to go, I have not used Dyads yet (mine got hacked up to make my own DIY Treekin) but I always felt smaller Units was better, since you don't get a rank bonus more units means more flexibility.<br /> <br /> Nice list, pretty much all bases covered, I feel you should try a Treeman again (again I converted mine as I hate the metal/finecast one), it has been the star unit for me in most games.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ many thanks WombleJim!!!<br /> <br /> the only thing i hate about treemen in the new edition is that for 15pts any unit can destroy him (banner of eternal flame).<br /> <br /> hell, that glade guard unit i have should demolish him in 1 round of shooting at half range (long range with a slightly better than average roll)<br /> <br /> <br /> tree-kin have a similar issue, but you get 3 of them for just under the treemans points - more wounds/attacks.<br /> treemen are kinda cool, they just dont seem to work for me.<br /> <br /> <br /> i went with big units of dryads for the same reason i had the big unit of glade guard (same guy i played had them).  he put his free wood in front of his battleline and marched his unit of 20 dryads into it.  even when i charged them the ammount of attacks that 1 unit puts out is enough to remove static combat res and they will outdo most things on their own..... add to that they are stubborn in woods (being skirmishers) and that opponents lose steadfast in woods (for not being skirmished) - makes for some awesome flank charges <img src="/s/i/a/baf5f2e54c6b17d5c5d39aecadfa1272.gif" border="0">  (if the guy haddn't left the 40 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(50);'>GW</span>, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(99);'>MOK</span> marauders i had, he would have destroyed me)<br /> <br /> <br /> i should drop the riders for something a bit better/more useful.... but i've got them and the models are kinda cool as well......<br /> <br /> for their points i can get:<br /> - a unit of 20 eternal guard.... not much of a combat unit but awesome models and make a nice support for something.<br /> - 3 more treekin (for 1 unit of 9 or 2 small units - i wouldn't use units of 3)<br /> - another level 4 mage<br /> - a couple of alter kindred heroes, or 1 alter lord with precious few upgrades (unless i drop some stuff elsewhere)<br /> - another 10 waywatchers!<br /> - a big unit of wardancers (awesome, IF they get there)<br /> - a small unit of warhawk riders (not too impressed with them)<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> EDIT - having discovered that the wild riders unit will cost £72, i'm not so keen on them!<br /> <br /> i will drop them for this guy:<br /> <br /> Lord - Highborn - 287pts<br />  - Great Weapon<br />  - light armour<br />  - shield<br />  - alter kindred<br />  - bow of loren (basically a 5 shot bow without -1 to hit)<br />  - arcane bodkins (shots from the bow ignore armour)<br />  - amaranthine brooch (3up ward against mundane weapons)<br /> <br /> <br /> leaves me 9pts to play with....<br /> <br /> still might swap the glade riders for something but i like having at least some fast units, even just as a distraction.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Convert your glade riders to wild riders.  I've seen it done and it can look pretty good.  Then you can keep the Wild Riders in your list, but drop the Glad Riders for something better.  You don't need screening units, you have two Eagles for that.<br /> <br /> A <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span> and/or a Noble with Hail of Doom would be better investments.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Your list looks good.<br /> For my self i would drop a unit of glade riders to get your treekin up to a 8 man sqaud. it is just amazing how more effective they are at 8.<br /> <br /> I would suggest you try a treeman again. I find him very effective at handling hoards just fine flaming is not all that effective vs him. Even your glade guard would have to be lucky to hurt him reliably at any range. At short or long range you are wounding on 6s. With his armor save and then ward he is safe for the most part. <br /> Your life mage can cast regrowth on you treeman to heal so even if he get low on wounds you can get them back though life bloom or regrowth.  the said things for treeman apply to the treekin<br /> <br /> Dryads are nice I run a big block as well. <br /> <br /> If you decide to go a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span> which goes well with the stubborn of the treeman really well. i have found a combo that works well for me<br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>Bsbs</span><br /> silver armor and dragon gem or warrior bane( for magic attacks)<br /> Level 4 mage with the Rhymers harp and any 25 point magic item you like to add. <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(471);'>DS</span>, Star-fire arrow, or the mask of ee( having terror is never a bad thing)<br /> <br /> You run these two in the glade guard. Running the GG deep gives you 6 ranks and makes them a lot more survivable. The also become your steadfast breaker later in the game. work them with the treekin to get the flank for the guard. ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I think you got the points for a Treeman wrong. I agree with you on the small size of the army. The units I think you could drop are the Alter Highborn and the Waywatchers. Instead, you could get more Dryads (as you mentioned). Additionally, I would advise you to split the Tree Kin unit.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ nicely spotted, i've edited it to be correct.<br /> <br /> <br /> i've seen small units of tree-kin get shot up, out combatted or whatever.  there just isnt enough of them for any impact. ideally i want to arrive in combat with at least 6 to get the damage out of them (lore of life can restore them a bit to help with that as well)<br /> <br /> i'll have a think but i reckon i'll drop the alter kindred for something (more dryads i think).  i'll keep the waywatchers as something to panic knights with (especially with the loss of the alter)]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Onother option you can do is change the noble to a Normal Highborn and make hime your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(44);'>Gen</span>. The switch the Glade Gaurd to Eternal Guard. They are quite good and if you build your lord to be hard to kill they are stuborn on a 9 withc is amazing. <br /> <br /> Just a option.<br /> <br /> I would drop the Waywatcher as much as i love them. Instead of dryads wardancers are a intesting choise and are effective in large numbers.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ If you want a threat for Knights than I'd rather keep the Highborn and drop the Waywatchers than the other way around. Waywatchers just cost way to much for worse shooting than Glade Guard. Sure they Killing Blow, once in a blue moon, but other than that, they cost twice the points of Glade Guard and don't even get the S4 under half range.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ its not the killing blow that i specifically want (though it does worry knights and other such things)<br /> <br /> its the set up 1" behind a unit and royaly p**s them off for a few turns before rear charging them (depending on the unit). Those 36 points together with the 15 spare points (that are now spent on useless Noble upgrades) you could get a second Great Eagle, which would really help you out.<br /> <br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: 9px; line-height: normal;">Automatically Appended Next Post:</span><br /> On second thought, maybe you should just drop Resplendence of Luminescents and a single Dryad instead of 3 Dryads. You don't really need the additional Magical attacks in your army, as almost your entire army is already a Forest Spirit.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Your Eagles will do great at taking down manglers and fanatics.  One trick is to fly to 8" away but on the other side of a piece of terrain.  He'll basically have no choice but to shoot them out the back and out of the fight.<br /> <br /> The spider won't last long against the Treekin or the Dryads so I wouldn't worry too much about that.]]></description>
