Ok, so this is obviously scam, and sadly, russians are better con artists in my opinion, but, I just thought it was funny I got this email today.

Has anyone else had a nigerian "prince" tell them they've inherited a small fortune?

I remember getting these in my hotmail account back in the late '90s.

I should dig up my favorite scam email. Apparently the sender was a time traveller who was trapped in the past and needed money for certain parts to repair his time machine. I offered him a box of spare electronics from Radio Shack, but never heard back from him.

Late 90s? The Nigerian government issued an official statement warning about these scams back in 1991, when email was still noteworthy instead of something your grandmother uses. The form of the scam goes back to at least the 1920s, though the "Nigerian Prince" part probably only started in the late 80s or early 90s.

Well, the tale is that they have a bunch of money, but have to bribe someone or pay big bank fees or use a US account to get at it, while in the original version they were a rich guy who needed ransom money to get out of prison so they could get to their vault of jewels. If you really want to have fun with them, turn the tables.
