				<title>The Haemonculus Coven from Hell! </title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Hi all  <img src="/s/i/a/3280d57d913d8178fb42a55db16d1e89.gif" border="0"><br /> <br /> Well I've finally decided to start a small Haemonculus Coven - around 500pts, maybe a little more. Anyway here's the test scheme:<br /> <br /> <img src="http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a467/warspawnedpainting/Wrack1.jpg" border="0" /><br /> <br /> I had some problems with the Finecast, but the sculpts are great - they're not actually barefooted like I thought, they have sandals <img src="/s/i/a/8f7b3f87df347f2cf6c1e7d5e119a067.gif" border="0"> Still, at least they left the socks at home <img src="/s/i/a/baf5f2e54c6b17d5c5d39aecadfa1272.gif" border="0"><br /> <br /> When I started painting it I was kind of lazy, painting the flesh in 'normal' tones, following <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(50);'>GW</span>'s example etc and I realised it didn't feel quite right. I went back to the Wrack's description in the Codex and love my horror films, so I decided to go for a 80's 'Hellraiser' style. I thought <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(111);'>raw</span> flesh with perhaps new flesh hooked or pulled over was a pretty neat idea. I decided to give them rusty weapons, the better to spread infection, and it's not as if they would polish them. I quess I'd like the exposed flesh to be more 'realistic' but I'm pretty happy with it and even found room for Tentacle Pink <img src="/s/i/a/ef7b97610a8bf5b2bd5df8209dc08ff3.gif" border="0">. I'm looking forward to seeing the unit completed. <br /> <br /> I'll probably add to this all too infrequently. Models like this are one of the downsides to playing <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(119);'>SM</span>....no exposed flayed flesh and evil, rusty pigstickers. Oh, and I second the idea of adding some white connective tissue in there, if you're looking to add more realistic detail. Can't wait to see what's  next!]]></description>

I did look at muscle pictures on google before I started but didn't now how far to take it so I went for the red flayed look from Hellraiser 2 - I guess a fine highlight or two wouldn't hurt, but I'll practice it (and other methods) on some Ork arms to see what effects I can get from that kind of base. I was worried it might contrast too closely with the skin/bone if it was too light and didn't just want to splash red clear all over it, although that would give the slick blood look. <br />  <br /> Thanks again, that's on my 'to do' list today for sure <img src="/s/i/a/5d13fa41280d6fdef786d41bc175d3f6.gif" border="0"><br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: 9px; line-height: normal;">Automatically Appended Next Post:</span><br /> Well I did a little test to get more a more sinew/connective tissue look and was happy with it:<br /> <br /> <img src="http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a467/warspawnedpainting/Test.jpg" border="0" /><br /> <br /> Sorry about the photos but the natural light faded just as I was taking them.
