What's the best way to do this, because I've seen on the GW website that they've got their figure parts on a stand, or whatever it is, how do I do that?

I agree 100%. For all my multi-part Eldar infantry, I glue torso to legs and paint that separate from arms/weapons/heads. For the heads, I just shove a thumbtack into the bottom of the head. Faster than trying to pre-drill the hole. I'll usually prime it on the thumbtack, too.
