Set up:



We had a smaller board the normal (48"x36") but being 1000pts it didn't bother us too much, we did reduce the terrain roll to D3+2 (ending up with 5).
The terrain was 2 x walls, 1 x building (middle), 1 x Bane Stone (bottom right), 1 x Temple of Skulls (bottom left) and a Kherm Quicksand (top right). They are around the board.
He set up first and that allowed me to stack my guys to the right flank. He had no reserves, and I had my smaller KE unit in reserve.

Vanguard move, I placed my peg's to his spearmen's flank - I felt like I shouldn't of been able to do this? guys?

Turn 1:
I prayed, so he went first.

No charges.
He reformed his spearmen and moved his right flank up.
His magic was dispelled (bye bye scroll).

I prayed to the chaos gods with the damsel, and got +1 to Movement (yawn)
In my turn I charged with my pegs and two knight units. With my KE (and BSB) failing to charge. His swordsmen ran, so I rallied my charge into the side of his spearmen.
In magic, I cast the Beasts sig spell onto my guys, and he dispelled my other.
Combat, I tore him apart - he caused a wound on my KoR and one to my Pegs. I rallied my KoR and held whilst my Pegs chased him down.

Turn 2:
He raillied his swordsmen and reformed
He moved up on his right
Nothing significant for magic

Me:
I prayed to chaos again, getting 3+ Str! (weird)
I brought the KE onto the board in the far left flank.
I charged his swordsmen with my Peg Knights.
Magic saw nothing much happen.
Combat, I won and chased him down.

Turn 3.
He reformed his hand gunners to face my KE, and then he swung his knights to face my others. At this point I realised I had the game.
Magic was uneventful.

Me:
I prayed to choas +3 movement (Ninja Damsel) she is now at movement 8!
I charged with both KE and KoR (using KoR first stopped him standing and shooting).
I moved my pegs around and moved my Large KE back, to avoid his knights - just keeping them out of the game.
Magic saw me do nothing.
Combat was a complete mess for the handgunners, being destroyed.

Turn 3:
He reformed his knights
Cast flaming cage on my smaller KE (which hurt...2 dead, but passed panic).

Me:
I charged his knights, larger KE failed to charge.
After combat, I won, he fled and whilst I didn't chase him down - we called the game there.


Thoughts: I'll write more when I get time, but his step up was silly - too spread out for this game. He shouldn't have ran with his swordsmen in the first turn. My knights have awesome armour!

I actually told him, he should of brought you 'gun-line' list. Having said that, we are both new to the rules, so he was keen to try a bit of every unit.

Since then we played a second game where he had a cannon, which really had me worried - but whilst the game was much closer, I won again.
