Still hunting for a cool 35pt khador list.

So here are 3 lists that I am interested in. The first is generated from my other thread, and the other 2 are ideas I have had since that seem fun. I am still just starting so please be generous with advise.

List 1:
Strakhov
*Behemoth
*Torch
*Sylys
Iron fangs x6
Great bears
Widowmakers
Marksman

General takes all comers list, relies on good mobility and hits hard.

List 2: T3 eButcher
Orsus
*Juggernaut
*War dog
Reavers
*Escort
Reavers
*Escort
Reavers
*Escort
Reavers
*Escort
Fenris

As I was looking through khador's units I found the doom reavers and noticed how fun they looked. but at FA 2 and berserk they seemed like a bit of a liability, then when I was looking through the book a different time I noticed fenris and the escort. "Cool" I thought, "Now they are now so much of a liability" but still 5 points to make reavers be nice to each other with only 2 units seems expensive. Then I found eButcher's page and I knew I had a list coming. So the strategy is to charge the enemy with a wave of angry death and watch their battle line break and run, then cut them down as they flee and laugh manically. And if something goes terribly wrong you will have a Juggernaut arriving in a few turns to back up your troops.

List 3:
Old Witch
*Scrapjack
*Beast09
*Kodiak
Great bears
Iron Fangs*6
Widow makers
eEiryss
Marksman

Similar to the Strakhov list but more pathfinder focused, more of a secondary list for fields cluttered with terrain.

So any thoughts or suggestions?

You're better off with Beast 09 with eButcher. Not having to waste a point of focus to charge is huge. Dropping a unit of Doomies for it will also free up some points for Manhunters or Yuri and a Manhunter.

i agree with Ronin, Beast 09 with eButcher drop a doomies to free the points and grab Yuri and Manhunter. your problem will be any form of ranged opponents. your bane will be AoE Blasts from a cannon. more likely to see that from a Khador player then most others.

Re:Still hunting for a cool 35pt khador list.

Sorry for the long delay but I have been busy and not had a chance to reply until now.
Here is the problem with adding 09 to the orsus list. That is an orsus tier list and only allows for non character warjacks. If I added beast, not only would ALL of my doomie units cost an extra point I could only field 2 of them, and 1 greylord, and the entire point of having a reavercentric list would be destroyed. The reason I was looking at a Kodiak is because it only costs 1 point more than the juggernaut, which I could get by dropping the dog. However the main reason for having a jack at all is to kill other jacks and the naut seems like it would be good at that, with P+S19 and all. Other than that doom reavers will even damage khador jacks on average rolls due to weapon master, and they will slaughter infantry....once they reach them.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Then again a Kodiak runs for free which helps save on focus, and can make clouds to help screen the doomies, but I loose the dog.

Re:Still hunting for a cool 35pt khador list.

So here is a slight update to the Strakhov list.

Kommander Strakhov
*Torch
Doom Reavers (Leader and 5 Grunts)
*Greylord Escort
Great Bears of Gallowswood
Iron Fang Pikemen (Leader and 5 Grunts)
Widowmakers (Leader and 3 Grunts)
Fenris
Kell Bailoch
Widowmaker Marksman

So the idea is that the doom reavers, bears and iron fangs make a strong melee backbone for the army, while torch can make up to 7 attacks per turn due to his bond with strakhov, and the masses of sniper shots can either shred infantry formations or rip columns off of enemy jacks. Also only having 1 jack lets me allocate more focus to it or, cast more spells with Strakhov. Let me know what you think.

Still hunting for a cool 35pt khador list.

The purpose of jacks in an eButcher list is to simply form a wall to block LOS and therefore protect Butcher.

Juggernauts are great in this respect because they're the cheapest ARM20/34 boxes anyone can get, and because they can also put a world of hurt on anything that they are actually able to charge.

2 Juggernauts and Butcher is really all you need for a battlegroup in tier eButcher lists. Enough wall to soak up ranged punishment to deliver Butch into enemy lines.

WIth Doom Reavers, more is always better. You need enough to hit the critical mass where enemies are unable to shoot them to death before 1-2 get into their lines and start killing 4-5 guys apiece.

Stick with cheap jacks and mass Doom Reavers with eButch. Add Fenris, Yuri and Manhunters to flavor.

Your Strakhov list, though, Strakhov does not play well with Behemoth. Behemoth really does very little without 2-3 focus/turn, and Strakhov simply can't afford to keep fueling him without losing his spell support.

Try dropping Behemoth for a Spriggan. It works well on his feat turn and can absorb almost as much punishment.
