Nerd By Design Comission Log- Mud vs Blood

Hello ladies and gentlemen! well with only a week or two before i launch my range of miniatures and accessories, and with my dark angels commission currently on hold (the client was happy with the end results which i need to post, and he's sending me a few of his old mini's he wants stripped and used) i've managed to pick up another log;

This time its about the Death Korps.... Or perhaps Bloodpact. The client is a long term tread head, but like most imperial guard players he can't finish his main force. So he's asked me to paint up two units to help him choose which type of guard he'll play. Currently i have two mini's, a Leman russ vanquisher (i think?) and a member of the korps. He was two playing styles in mind, a blood pact armoured assault or a krieg mixed force (obviously as the painter i'd love to do blood pact, they are a truely unique force! But i can't say i don't have a soft spot for those kriegy wiegys)

Here is what i have on my desk as of this morning;

-skrall

Ok, update time. Client is happy with the progress so far so here's the blood pact tank about about 60% completion.

-skrall

Nerd By Design Comission Log- Mud vs Blood

Ok first; pact vs krieg commission. It's evolved slightly, the clients sold on my tank abilties even though its not finished yet. he's now asked me to produce an addtional model; a blood pact mini. After a long discussion about how and what he saught from me i decided the best approach was to sculpt the torso and head so that i can cast and reproduce them without any legal issues (so any guard fans look forwards to the 5 torso kit in the next few weeks or months). Since i work part time to suppliment my income i've not had much progress on the painting front so no pics related to this project till tomorrow.

However; i got contacted by someone else with an usual request.. a necron lord. he's given me free reign other than it needs an orb and a staff. So, with a bit of bish bash boshing this is what i've put together so far;

-skrall

Nerd By Design Comission Log- Mud vs Blood

Ok update time; i'm having issues getting the lighting right on this guy, its difficult because of the size of my lamp and the workspace i have, so here's the blood pact torso/head wip.

It needs smoothing in places, but the gs needs 30min-1hr to cure a bit so it smooths alot easier. i also need to block up any gaps i can since i hope to cast the torso for a few units, as well as produce 4 more torso sets.

-skrall
