Elmer's glue would probably work also. You should look up "Future Floor Polish" tutorials for canopies. PVA will also work.

If you balls up a canopy with cement, you can try and recover it by sanding the cement off with a very fine sanding stick. Then dip the canopy in Future Klear floor polish, and let it drip dry on a kitchen towel for 24 hours.

prefer to dunk in Johnson's Klear/Future varnish and use superglue.

Like Breotan said any clear acrylic floor varnish should work.
Not sure of which other brands though.
