Indeed.

It would be interesting to see if they are superheros in that movie with few losses despite fighting even vastly superior plane like the ME-262 or if it is realistic.

1: A rather dapper Cuba Gooding Jnr smoking a pipe (after seeing him breakdance on a chat show last year I could never, ever realistically believe him to enjoy a pipe)

2: A P51d mustang able to keep up with a Me262. No chance, no how. Also good to see Cuba Gooding Jr. survive Pearl Harbor, Navy diving school, and the air over Europe all in the 1940's.

However GL's focus on blacks is interesting to me because it reminds me of when NBA basketball champion John Salley talked to GL about Star Wars. Salley's a black guy that loved Star Wars but asked why there was seemingly only one black guy in the universe in Lando. Fast forward several years later and now GL's making a movie about the Tuskegee Airmen. /tinfoil hat

As long as the reviews are decent I'll probably be checking this out in the theaters. And checking the records three pilots of the 100th Fighter Squadron did in fact shoot down 3 ME-262's on 24 March 1945 while escorting bombers on a mission to Berlin....

The next victories came on March 24. Forty-three of the 332d Fighter Group’s P-
51s escorted B-17s on a raid against the Daimler-Benz tank factory in Berlin. A total of
25 enemy airplanes rose up to challenge the bombers. Among them were FW-190s, jet
ME-262s, and rocket-propelled ME-163s. While both of the latter two aircraft types
could fly at least 100 miles per hour faster than the P-51 Mustangs, they could not turn as
quickly. Rapid fuel consumption also restricted the time jets and rockets could engage in
aerial combat. Short of fuel, the Germans limited use of the new airplanes, and
experienced pilots were rare. Three of the 100th Fighter Squadron pilots each shot down
one of the ME-262s, the first time members of the 332d Fighter Group destroyed any jets.
The day was not unmitigated triumph for the Americans, however. One of the jets shot
the right wing off a P-51, and its pilot went down.

Yes, I'm not the biggest fan of CGI either, but even I accept that this is pretty much the only way to make a film of this nature.
