Haven't read everything yet, but have realized that 99% of the fluff is biased towards one race or another. They are put out in vague reports, personal opinions of characters, and propaganda. If GW does this on purpose then I think it's genius as it opens up things for debate and discussion so well. It creates some holes, but I enjoy filling those holes with my own ideas. Because of this people's opinions also become biased towards personal preference or which parts that person has read. Each side can debate with each others forever without somebody ever proving themselves right, so that they either agree to disagree or get threadlocked. Eldar fluff is written to make you feel for the loss of the majority of their race, and boasts the l33tness of their aspect warriors over other races.

IG fluff is written so you are inspired by the sheer numbers of the Imperium of Man, and how any and all threats are crushed under its might.


I do think GW does this on purpose, and that they should continue to do so, because it allows players to really get behind their army or feel even better about tearing down another army.


The intential holes i think where plugs for Authors to create epic stories out of, to expand upon the fluff that one faction has. Though there are several cases where something that doesnt have much fluff gets so much attention, versus something that does have a lot of fluff.
