Eldar survival blog

Hi im still quite new here but I think it'll be a great way to remain focused on building my new eldar army if i write a blog about it ^_^

Now im going to try and make this blog fun and not boring

Ok first things first i ended up buying two boxes of dire avengers, two wraithlords and a squadron of war walkers. Ill also be picking up a HQ choice soon. So for now i thought i might as well start building my force. Now as im a nut for themes my new eldar needed a strange theme too. Ive finally settled on a survival type theme.

The idea is that an eldar battlegroup have become trapped in a strage other world (possible due to the warp or eye of terror or somthing) and they have landed down on a planet much like the medievil/victorian earth. What they find down on the planet is that at night the horrors of the warp take over and creatures and monsters emerge from the once occupied building to kill and eat anything left alive.

Now the eldar arnt the only force on this planet but i wont go into detail about that yet

So with this theme my eldar have to look like they have to survive night after night of constant battle with demons. By day they have time to build up there defences and repair their equpiment. With their numbers dwindling there forced to use whatever they can to survive.

My first thought was to build up my troops.

HERES A LINE UP OF THE FIRST 5 INCLUDING THE EXARCH:

http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/257457-.html

MY EXARCH (hes awesome >_&lt

http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/257460-.html

http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/257461-.html

And here is my first mistake made, too far leaning guy!

I sure do love this floor.

I wanted a look of reaching down to help a fallen warrior, i even cut his arm to face more forward (which made little difference) little did i relize just how far forward he would lean lol.

Thats all for now, updates soon hopfully.

I like the pose on the Exarch, looks like an embattled Eldar. The Too far leaning guy is funny, I usually get that on Space Marines. I got around it by gluing their legs to their bases first, then glued their torsos on when my eyes were level with the model.

Thanks, yeah i tried doing it from the base up on the next model, except for the hundred times i dropped it, it seems to be working. although i felt like i was a terminator production line, lowering torsos onto standing legs lol

Re:Eldar survival blog

Just a quick update, i have now finished modelling my first squad of dire avengers. Ill be adding some green stuff later to convert them more to the theme i have going.

I ended up giving some of the models alittle more character than expected lol now all i see is afew normal avengers and what appears to be a tarantino style character line up lol

First heres the completed squad (well almost)

And here is one of the avengers that try to stand out from the crowd lol

I love the smell of demon flesh in the afternoon!

Oi you! yeah you your mine!

More updates later.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Latest today!

Just finished building two war walkers and im alittle disapointed in myself. sure their ok models, except perhaps the pilots keep interest again in the floor ¬_¬

but im disapointed because i set out with a theme in mind but the models ive currently built all seem to be basic eldar models. I suppose its because ive never used green stuff before and im alittle nervous at breaking my models with extensive cuting and glueing.

If anyone has any advice on how to convert my army to suit the theme it would be really helpful

so here my two war walkers:

If i dont figure out what to do with them soon ill end up with a normal eldar army lol
