This is just a simple 1k point list for my Templars, I tryed to mimic my 2k list by building off of the strengths of that one and make it work in a smaller point setting. I had to make some changes that I figured would only help me out, one of those is the Drop Pod crusader squad, which has worked out great for me in the past to hold down objectives or contest them if needed. This list is a foundation for a league that I will hopefully be able to attend in the upcoming month. I know I have a low amount of troops but with as much firepower that I put down it should equal out. Anyways, take a look at it and let me know what you think. At 1000pts you have enough AT with the speeders and the vindicator so I would give the troops rhinos instead. I would also not use the BT Laserbacks as they are 90pts a pop. Rhino would be a better deal.

My suggestions would be Drop all your troops transports get 3 Rhinos and buy an extra Landspeeder Typhoon. Also just a side note For your Crusader squads id suggest PF instead of PW and make all your squads 6man squads

I don't try to take my opponents objective, I try and knock him off of it or contest with a non-troop unit. As for other objectives rhinos give you the protection you need in a 1K list to get there. Killpoints you just sit back and shoot...what's he going to do? Charge the army full of prefered enemy space marines? Yeah right.
Right I get that it is a foundation list...you add in some terminators then some more typhoons. If you are intent on taking razorbacks then drop the melta guns. As for the size of your squads i would make them all the same seeing how if you take rhinos you can have 10 models in them so 7 would be fine. So there you are in turn 2 with 18 Marines and 2 Typhoons and that's not going to do a whole lot against most armies.

What are you hoping will do all the killing? Not trying to be a jerk so I hope it doesn't come off like that, but you don't seem to have a lot of shooting after the first couple of turns and you have a couple high priority targets that are pretty easy to kill.

Sorry I don't have a better answer other than what people are telling you...either put the dudes all in rhinos or pods, maybe add some neophytes for ablative wounds to bolster you crusader squads.
