				<title>1850 Salamanders</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Well there's a tournament coming up, and I figured I would dust off my 8-9 year old Salamanders and give it a try.<br /> However I'm not familiar with the current Meta... either locally or even the Meta-Metagame, and I wont be picking up the newest rulebook until late in September (minis come first, more time to paint) , so if I'm missing something,or still labring under a third edition assumption, let me know. (As an example I may not yet know what a kill point is, and you don't have to explain them to me, but if a slight change gives me more or less or whatever I need, please let me know)<br /> <br /> Anyway 1st is the part I'm mostly committed to fielding, still any optimizations are appreciated:<br /> Vulcan<br /> 5 Assault Terms (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(224);'>TH</span>/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(221);'>SS</span>)<br /> 10 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>Tac</span> Marines Sgt w <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(105);'>PF</span>,Melta, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span><br /> 10 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>Tac</span> Marines Sgt w CombiFlamer, Flamer, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span><br /> 10 Scouts W SR,<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(328);'>ML</span>, CamoCloaks, led by Te'Lion<br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(87);'>LR</span> w <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span><br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(475);'>LRR</span> w EA & <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span><br /> <br /> This should leave me with about 325 points left.<br /> Now I'm a little less sure of what to add next, but here is some of my current thoughts <br /> a) <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(475);'>LRR</span> w EA & <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span>, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(456);'>LS</span> w <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span>?<br /> My current favorite, it gives everyone transports... and if your going to go landraider... go big. I could also switch the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span> out on the Landspeeder for a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(336);'>HF</span> (for suicide antitroop rather than suicide antivehicle) if I need more antihorde. Also I could cut back a bit (the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span> on <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(87);'>LR</span> & the camocloaks) and replace the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(456);'>LS</span> with either a Techmarine or a Chaplain (poor Xavier, reduced to a generic).<br /> <br /> b) 6 sternguard 2 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(336);'>HFs</span>, Combiflamers (and maybe one combimelta) all around, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(105);'>PF</span> for the sarg in Razorback w Laz/Plaz & a Rhino for one of the above <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>Tac</span> squads<br /> If i need more antihorde this might help, And i suppose if i really want to go all out i can convert my old <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span> turret into <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(336);'>HFs</span><br /> <br /> c) 2 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span>/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(336);'>HF</span> Dreads in Drop pods, Drop pod for one of the above <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>tac</span> squads<br /> It involves a bit more painting (as I've only got one dread, and one Drop pod) but if drop pods are the big new must have, this gives me some. Still it leaves my landraiders exposed and taking fire till they drop<br /> <br /> Anyway I welcome any advice or criticism.<br /> <br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Okay, so some things:<br /> So you have too many scouts, methinks. Instead, take 5 with camo-cloaks, snipers, and an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(328);'>ML</span>.<br /> <br /> What's the other Raider for? If you aren't using it for transport, there are cheaper things.<br /> If you have a pod to use, give it to ten sternguard, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(72);'>imo</span>. 10 combi-meltas/flamers is better than 6, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(72);'>imo</span>. I'd also keep them combis, for my tastes. And I don't like <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(105);'>PFs</span> for sternguard, but that's up to you.<br /> If you take a razorback, from 24-12" (the range of your sterns) the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(478);'>TLAC</span> is the best weapon available.<br /> <br /> In the current meta, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>tac</span> squads need rhinos/drop pods. As you have pods, give them pods.<br /> <br /> From what you seem to have, I'd do the following:<br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span>:<br /> Vulcan: 190<br /> <br /> Elites:<br /> 5 Termies w/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(224);'>TH</span>/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(221);'>SS</span>, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(475);'>LRR</span> (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span>): 450<br /> 6 stern w/combi-meltas/flamers, razorback w/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(478);'>TLAC</span>: 255<br /> 1 Dread w/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span>/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(336);'>HF</span>, drop pod: 150<br /> <br /> Troops:<br /> 1x10 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>tac</span> marines, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(105);'>pf</span>, melta, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span>, pod: 235<br /> 1x10 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>tac</span> marines, combi-flamer, melta, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span>, pod: 220<br /> 1x5 sniper scouts, camo-cloaks, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(328);'>ML</span>: 100<br /> <br /> That's 1600 points. For the other 250 I'd personally recommend either 3 land speeders (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(330);'>MM</span>/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(336);'>HF</span>) or 2 preds <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(5);'>AC</span>/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span> sponsoons. It's up to you. The top part, however, is more competitive in the meta.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Hmm i misread Telions rules, which led me to overvaluing him, so removing him and cutting back on the scouts saves me some points. Still just one <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(87);'>LR</span> seems risky, i might as well walk Vulcan and the terms then. Also I have noticed 2 gun <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(456);'>LS</span> mentioned in some lists- do you actually get to fire the 2nd gun in 5th? 				<description><![CDATA[ Firstly a Librarian might bring some good stuff to the list<br /> Opposed to a Techmarine who in all rights is kinda meh (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(72);'>imo</span>)<br /> <br /> Landspeeders are vehicles like any other, except theyre fast which means.  Move up to 6" fire 2 weapons Move 6.0001-12" fire 1 weapon and all defensive or go flat out and receive a 4+ cover save<br /> <br /> Landraiders in the Melta Meta are very easy to deal with, consider running some rhinos saving points for more shooty goodness]]></description>
