Chaos WArriors from WHF to Grey Knight Cursaders

Hey everyone, I have done research and found that chaos warriors have shields that can be modded to look like storm shields, and modding the warriors themselves can make them look like normal men within armor... I was wondering if this was a feasible conversion or if there was an easier conversion out there.

Here are my questions:

1. is there an easier conversion?
2. can some one place pics of this conversion up if they have done it?
3. what supplies besides are needed to make conversions (besides a knife, according bits, and possibly some green stuff if needed)

if there is any thing I missed please feel free to mention it, this is my first attempt at major conversion and would TRULY appreciate any words of warning / aide that may be offered.

The warriors chests and cloaks come in only two pieces, with the cloak being integral to the back and shoulders. I've been considering converting a wolf guard squad with the models but it seems like a counterproductive model to start with for GK.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The cloaks are very antithetic to the GK style in my opinion.

these aren't gk's and they could easily be a retinue carved from an arctic world. The inquisition has a truly diverse range of worlds they recruit from, and each inquisitor has his prefferences.

I think that these could make for a great conversion challenge and allow creativity to shine... I don't want to convert 40k mini's into crusaders because they don't LOOK 40k in armor, they just look like they have feudal armor on with a storm shield to block shots, converting a normal weapon to a power weapon is simple enough,

if there are any FEUDAL suggestions that could be placed, I would be emphatically endebted.

They could look quite good provided you file down all the chaosy bits.

I'm considering using Lord of the rings warriors of minith tirth just since I have them but I think the scale is wrong :(

The WoC model has a lot of fine detail, but it is also very static. The single pose works fine (to some degree) in a fantasy regiment, but translates poorly the skirmish formation used in 40K.

Pay attention to how the arms are sculpted - the upper arm is attached to the body with only the elbow down being free for posing. I've seen many (poor) conversions where a bolter is just poking out from the torso because of this.

Quality conversions could be done using the WoC body - but you're looking at cutting up the figure for a more dynamic pose, adding SM parts to transition from fantasy to SciFi and sculpting a lot of structure and/or transition detail.
