thoughts on Denegra 35pts

Been playing a bit of war machine recently, just getting started with cry, after a few years of khador.
I have just picked up Denegra and was thinking on a list for her.

Denegra
Skarlock
2 deathrippers
Slayer
2 necrosurgeons
2 Max size units of mech thralls
Small unit of bile thralls
Withershadow combine

The other option is to swap the combine for another unit of bile thralls, any thoughts folks?

He has 2 in the list, so gaining 6 McThralls a turn.
He should be on top of the shooters by turn 3, so has to weather 2, maybe 3 shooting phases.

Deneghra's feat can go a long way to negating a shooty army. Crippling Grasp on the right targets also.

Vs pCaine you just get an arcnode close enough and cast Scourge through it.
Bam, he's knocked down, and you can auto-hit him, if the blast didn't kill him.
I don't see that as a bad matchup at all.

Re:thoughts on Denegra 35pts

Of the choices here, I'd probably drop the Slayer and pick up some support units. Yes the Slayer is nice for six points, but he's focus hungry and you have a focus greedy caster in Denny. If you already own the Battle Box, though, then the following suggestions cost about $65 retail. Now, by dropping the Slayer you could instead pick up a pair of Brute Thralls for each of your thrall groups and toss in a Siren or Gorman. This gives you four more Medium bases to block tramples and with Denny's debuffs those Brutes will really rip things to shreds.

The Warwitch Siren is a great multi-use solo, especially combined with Denny since it opens up more shenanigans. She can grant a focus to a nearby Deathripper so your caster doesn't have to, she can cast Venom, she can Seduce a warrior solo which opens you up to control their pieces (let's walk that annoying solo right in the middle of that group of infantry I'm about to Purge), and when you combine her Reach with her Shadowbind on hit then it opens up the option to lock down enemy Warjacks or Beasts that don't have reach without fear of reprisal. She has a pretty low MAT, though, so aim for heavies or back strikes if you're doing this.

Edit: I almost forgot, just like Denny the Sirens have Parry and Stealth, giving them a decent defense against shooting and letting them walk out of a sticky situation they managed to survive.

Gorman Di Wulfe is a fantastic Mercenary solo for two points. Each turn he can drop a cloud to protect himself and nearby models and Blinding Oil is a 3" AoE that makes opponents sad. -4 MAT and DEF is bad enough, but then the model also has to forfeit its action or movement next turn on top of it. Sad times.

Re:thoughts on Denegra 35pts

I personally find mechanithralls amazing with pDenny
Played in a 35pt tourney on the weekend I shouldn't have lost any games but the won I lost came down to 4th tie breaker and I only lost because I passed 2 tough rolls. I felt this list was solid.

pDenny
Skarlock
Nightmare
Ripjaw
10 mechanithralls
Necrosurgeon n thralls
2 brute thralls
Min bane thralls
Bane thrall UA
Tartarus
Witch siren

Stealth is huge without it you will be eaten. Plus it means you have enough models to punch through the enemy with Dennys cool spell list+feat.
Just my 2cents. If I felt my list lacked anything I probably could have swaps out the war witch for 2nd necrosurgeon.

Re:thoughts on Denegra 35pts

I haven't ever used the war witch before, but she seems a pretty staple choice in a lot of lists, might have to pick one up, hoping to be able to afford the bane thralls soon (next month maybe), at which point i'll start using Goreshade a bit more.

The list looks pretty solid, stealth won't help me much as the normal opponent I face uses:

PCaine
Stormclad (I think)
Character mechanic (name escapes me)
Black 13th
Gun mages w/ UA (attatched cyclone)

Which other than the stormclad all have options to ignore stealth (as the stormclad doesn't do much shooting it doesn't seem worried)

So far I haven't managed to do any significant damage against this list, its pretty small but I just can't get close enough to deal any damage, and my mech thrall screen vanishes in very short order. The list has no way of shifting upkeep spells hence the switch to Denny (I have been using asphyxious till now) Also we will be using the scenarios alot more now (I'm still learning all the ins and outs of the game) and from what I understand that means my opponent will have to move forwards.
