Megapokalypse at Showcase Comics, Oct. 1st

This is going to be an ongoing Apoc campaign designed to draw in more players for apoc, with different themed battles that link together somewhat. Objectives taken in one battle may give advantages to that side or player in the next. (Capture the Orbital Defense Laser in Game 2, get to set up and use it in Game 3). The first games starts out with an old school megabattle. No superheavies at all. Other battles may have themes, special rules, or be an all out bring-your-titan slugfest.

Warhammer 40k MEGAPOKALYPSE!!!

October 1st, 10a.m. (Granite Run Mall store)

It's the first warm up event leading up to the Megapokalypse! (And nope, not telling anyone what that is yet! But read the forums for clues!)
This battle will be done with no superheavies, just a good, old fashioned GW Megabattle. You can use Forge World and IA models, if you own them and have a printed out copy of the rules. If it’s something fairly devastating or tricky, might want to ask me about it first. Don't worry, they'll be lots of time to bring out the big stuff in future games. In fact, you might want to get around to painting that big model if you've been putting it off!

-All models must be painted, based, and WYSIWYG.
-Special Characters must be represented by their appropriate model.
-Each player must bring a force from 1 codex, with a minimum of 1 HQ and 3 troop choices. Max of 3 HQ, 4 Elite, 12 troops, 4 FA, and 4 Heavy. You may bring up to 3000 pts of models. You may play with less than 3000.
-You must have an army list, preferable army builder, but printed on a computer is fine too. If writing it out by hand, make it legible and list all upgrades and equipment.
-Adding a unit or two from another codex is cool if there’s some justification or theme for it. (IG adding an Inquisitor retinue or GK squad is fine. Orks helping out Chaos, Np. Marneus Calgar showing up in a Dark Eldar raider is a bad idea.) These take up slots in your force org.
- Flyers from IA will be able to use the flying rules. Models such as Valkyries or Raven bombers, that have the option of flying in apoc games will be restricted to normal skimmer mode and rules.
-We will be using objectives, set up, etc from the Apoc book.
-Players that own the Apoc rulebooks may use formations and one strategem. If you don't own the books, you can't. Write the strategem you choose on your army list.
Mustering of forces is 10am to 11am. We pick sides and choose captains at 11am. Captains will then bid for set up. We will begin turn 1 at 12:00 noon! No cost. Free Chili Dogs for those playing
