This is a story based campaign ran by a small, local gaming shop in Farmington, Maine. Orks have invaded a small forgeworld, taking it completely over and destroying any resistance in a matter of days. the 412th Krieg Armored Regiment has been sent to quell the invasion with the help of the Black Templars. However, a relic thought protected on this forgeworld is under immediate threat, which holds great importance to the Grey Knights. Reports have been made and confirmed that a detachment of the Blood Angels has also arrived, though their intentions are secret from the other imperial forces, they still have decided to fight alongside fellow man and Astarte.

The first mission was laid out quickly, the three leaders of the Astarte understanding that if the Krieg are to land on the planet, the defensive battery's taken by the orks must be dealt with swiftly. The two battery's were situated on a large peninsula, both along the border of the 'Nitalious" River. The leader's agreed that it was imperative that the both battery's be hit simultaneously by two strike forces, both supported by the fire of battle barges in the atmosphere; though the fire would not come until the first objective of the mission was destroyed, thus being the las-battery's.


( Out of story) The first mission is described as above the Ork battery's to be destroyed. To save time we represented that only one battle would be done instead of doing both. Normal force organization does not comply for this campaign, other than the fact that each player bring an HQ.

The rules of the mission was as follows, the Imperium players could only use Deep striking units for this mission, and that all must deploy together to follow through with the commander's orders. There are two objectives, a las battery stationed one side of the river, and then a fortification with AA-space battery's on the other side of the river, which is protected by a void-shield with a 24" diameter for the first three turns, (we assumed that Orks are too stupid to control the heat of the void-shield). In the fortification was a stationed Heavy bolter and battle cannon that the Orks could use.

TURN 1:
With quick precision and devastating force, three Black Templar drop pods land with pounding force, within fifty meters of the las batteries. The ork boyz look to the thunderous shower, awe-struck and the sudden emergence of 'ummies'. Not seconds later the Blood angels and Grey Knights Thunder hawk descend, immediately pressing fire towards the las batteries as the Black templar tactical squads and Dread naught pile out from their drop-pods with a terrifying hiss of hydraulics. As las-cannon fire and meltas pepper the batteries, Psy-missles erupt from the missile bays of the grey knight Stormraven. Two missles land on target killing two zap boys stationed across the river, however out of a mishap from a 'faulty' servitor, two of the missles were duds, never to leave the bay.

As the firing commences from the Grey Knight Stormraven, the troops inside, along with their Dreadnaught brother jump out with flawless ease, flamers and storm bolters raining death into the ranks of the Ork boys. Several are killed, buy many still remain as the Vinidcare Assassin also departs the Stormraven, loading and firing a turbo-penetration shot at the Las cannons, blowing off one of the cannons in a hissing of loose energy and destructive power. What was left of the Ork boys found themselves quickly taking cover as inconceivable amounts of bolter rounds and assault cannon rounds pattered around them, and within moments their cover failed them, the explosive rounds leaving not an ork alive. This left the Grey knights saddened, who much dearly wanted to use their force weapons against the greenskins, but never got the chance.

As the first objective was cleared of all threats, yet still operational, the Blood angels descended. The screaming jets of assault marines were heard from all as the shining jewels of the chapter touched down on the desert floor, immediately jumping forward to attempt to cross the large river. The Blood Angels Stormraven, though came in with a shaky entry, began to let it's weapons pour out. Assualt cannon and Blood strike missles fired in a harry towards bulky, clanking deff-dreads. The missles struck and penetrating shots pelted the area around the deff-dreads with saddening effect, only immobilizing one of the three. The Orks, as impatient as the beasts were left the one behind as the other two pressed forward.

ORK TURN 1:
The Orks, though surprised by the sudden arrival of the space marines found themselves in the mood for a fight, their impatience showing as roars and insults were screamed across the river as the 'weak' boys were destroyed in such a short amount of time. Though impatient and hot blooded, this Ork horde worked flawlessly, as deff-kopta's screamed across the river, turbo-boosting with a thunderous roar of their primitive engines. Zapp-cannons discharged at the Grey Knights Stormraven, only to glance off the armor of the boxy vehicle, grabbing the attention of both the piolet and the servitor gunner.

There was not much the Orks could do other than move forward, yelling, screaming and firing off rounds needlessly into the air perhaps only to make some 'dakka'. However, the forty or so orks inside the fort were more patient, understanding that they had the biggest shoota' in this battle. With the help of gretchins and the strength of the orks, the battle cannon which they looted from a dead defenders leman russ was turned into position, aiming at the large drop pod that spilled Black Templar marines from. A huge explosion erupted from the barrel, sending forth a round the size of a man's torso. As the round screamed through the air the Orks and Gretchins watched with excited hope, seeing if their aim was actually dead on; it wasn't. The round moved slightly to the right, missing the drop pod right out, but landing by the Black Templar marines. Three of the battle brother's were not lucky as intense heat and shrapnel melted and penetrated their armor, leaving their battle brothers with anger in their hearts.
