Best company to get it from? GW stuff for most of my life in wargaming, yet, as with most gold, it has terrible coverage. Does anybody know how to get your hands on some sensibly priced, good quality gold paint. I can get my hands on rather a few different paint companies wears, well, Vallejo and AP anyway.

Imo, Vallejo Liquid Gold and Vallejo Model Colour are the best. The VMC gold/brass/copper colors are all actually quite amazing. As a good smooth 2nd best I'd say are Andrea Golds, but the tint is a little bit different.

The Model AIR stuff was a major let down; the silvers are fantastic but the golds separate, and stay separated regardless of shaking/agitators. Coat D'Arms. Luckily for you you're from the UK so it's easy to get your hands on. It's also much cheaper than GW brand paints and will stay usable pretty much indefinitely.
