				<title>New Ogre Lord and mount option for Firebellys</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ So there was a little bit of a clamour for a Firebelly mount option over on the Stronghold so I thought I would share it here, along with my Lord version of a Firebelly.<br /> <br /> If Firebellys are the priests of the Firemouth, Flamelords are its prophets. Flamelords are only revealed perhaps once every two or three generations and their coming is a sign of woe for all enemies of the Volcano god. The nature of the revelation is different, some revelations have come about when the chosen Firebelly has slipped and fallen into the bowels of the Firemouth itself, others have happened when under assault by an enemy wizard who channels the power of fire, but the end result is unmistakable. The Firebelly's skin is wreathed in flame, his very blood turns to Magma and his skin becomes as a cooled lava flow. He has become an Avatar of the Firemouth.<br /> <br /> Flamelord 400 points<br /> <br /> M6, WS4, BS3, S4, T5, W5, I3, A4, Ld8<br /> <br /> Troop Type: Monsterous Infantry(Character)<br /> <br /> Equipment: Hand Weapon<br /> <br /> Magic: A Flamelord is a Level3 wizard who uses the Lore of Fire.<br /> <br /> Special Rules: Flaming Attacks, Ogre Charge,<br /> <br /> Avatar of the Firemouth: A Flamelord is the chosen of the Volcano God, a living lava flow, his appearence terrifying to behold. Flamelords cause Terror and have a 4+ ward save, this save is increased to 2+ against flaming attacks.<br /> <br /> Fire Breath: Firelords have a Str5 Breath Weapon with the Flaming Attacks special rule.<br /> <br /> <br /> Options:<br /> <br /> May upgrade to a Lvl4 wizard for 35 points<br /> <br /> May choose to be armed with one of the following,<br /> Additional Handweapon 2 points<br /> Great Weapon 9 points<br /> <br /> May take magic items worth up to a total of 50 points<br /> <br /> Firebellies and Flamelords may choose to be mounted on a Giant Fire Beetle for 75 points<br /> If this option is taken, the models unit type is changed to Monsterous Cavelry<br /> <br /> Giant Fire Beetle 50 points<br /> M7, WS3, BS3, S5, T5, W1, I3, A3, Ld5<br /> <br /> Equipment: Crushing Mandibles and Hooked legs(hand weapon)<br /> <br /> Special Rules: Fear, Impact Hits(1), Strider<br /> <br /> Bombardier Sacks: Giant Fire Beetles have glands on the end of their abdomen that contain 2 fluids that, when mixed in air, explode in a most forceful manner. Bombardier Sacks are a shooting weapon with the following profile,<br /> <br /> Range 6", Str4, Poisoned Attacks, Multiple Shots(<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(24);'>D6</span>)<br /> <br /> No penalties are ever taken when firing Bombardier Sacks, its nearly impossable to avoid a spray of toxic fluid. <br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I can't help but thinking of those fire bugs from the starship troopers movie when I see the giant fire beetle thing. But I guess the sack is more like those bombadier beetles with the giant plasma ass. So cool though, lots of neat modelling opportunities. One wound makes it seem pretty soft to shooting, but I guess you would wack him in a mournfang unit?]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ For the Lord, he's got Slaughter master stats.<br /> A Firebelly is 20 more than a butcher, the Flamelord should be 20 more than the Slaughtermaster (base).<br /> So 270, for the stats, with the firebelly special rules (4+ ward vs fire, S4 breathe).<br /> Want to improve the ward to 4+ ward/2+ vs Fire, add another 50 points.<br /> Want to make the Breathe S5?  Add another 30 at least.<br /> Without a mount, I'd say 350 is fair.  <br /> <br /> I'd rather see him at 270 with the normal belly abilities.  4+ ward isn't needed, you've got 100 points of magic gear to kick around.<br /> S5 breathe is really powerful, and should be fairly limited.  I don't like the idea of giving that out to an ogre lord.  S4 is good enough.<br /> <br /> I don't like the beetle at all. With same wounds and just 1 less toughness.  Cuz Ogres are all about ward saves.<br /> <br /> But in the spirit of not being so snarky, why don't you just do what they do with everything else in the entire game.  Take the existing unit and make it a little better.  A Slaughtermaster isn't a Butcher with a ward save (let alone a 4+).  Nor is a Tyrant over a Bruiser.  Nor is nearly any such thing in the game.  Not even Daemons.  If you want to make a Special Character that's something else, but expect to pay through the teeth for a 4+ ward, regardless of what it costs in the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(13);'>BRB</span>.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Just...why?<br /> <br /> Look at page 35 in the ogre book.  You got Slaughtermasters and Butchers on the same page.  With the same abilities.  Just different attributes.  +6 for <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(119);'>SM</span>.  Which is what you did with Firelords.<br /> <br /> Except you added a 4+ ward out of nowhere, a +2 bonus to existing ward, Terror, +1STR to breath weapon.  Why?  Nowhere do they do anything remotely like that in any book.<br /> <br /> He should have the same attributes you listed.  Cost 260.  Same exact special rules as existing firebutt.  +35 pts to purchase <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(347);'>lvl</span> 4.  magic items up to 100.<br /> <br /> There.  That matches every other Hero-&gt;Lord upgrade in the game and exactly matches the Ogre book.  Make a special character if you want to make someone with an innate ward.  Though it doesn't make much sense--at least for Ogres.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ First let me say, my take on the lord is not picking apart your invention, just my half of a conversation about a proposed lord.<br /> <br /> I very much dig the concept and mount.  It's pretty well thought out, and limiting the magic items to 50 points is a fair sacrifice for the 4+ ward (which you can get in magic items anyway), but it may seem a little "it's built in so I can still get the talisman".  I'd reduce to a 5+ and up magic items back up to 100 (especially with a 400 cost - whew!)<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The mount is cool, but I might exchange poisoned attacks for a modified Kindleflame effect (since it's a firelord's mount) and have additional strength on the attack if the target unit had already been hit by a flaming attackl.  And range 6 is good, when you consider an actual bombardier beetle, but at that range with a lord's mount, I think it'd be fair to up the Strength of the attack to 5 (+d3 if the unit had already been the target of a flaming attack this turn).<br /> <br /> Now fluffwise.  The ogres have only one named slaughtermaster, one named tyrant, one named maneater, and one named miscellaneous model (that will probably only ever be taken because his model looks so damn cool).  Personally, I would have the firelord not be a customizable class, but an actual named firebelly who has achieved the grace of the Fire Mouth (like Skrag has for The Great Maw).]]></description>
