The Ultra-Orks (Tues-Taktikal boyz pics!)

The Ultra-Orks
----------------------------------------------------------------
"Line up boyz, taktikal position! Now!"

The orks in squad 2 immidiatly went into order as drilled, pushing and shoving for what they believed was their spot. "Feed 'em dakka!" was shouted, and the boyz opened up with their bolters, shredding the advancing imperial guardsmen.

To see such discipline from orks would throw many an unknowledgeable enemy off guard. They wern't any ork clan - they were the Ultra-Orks.
Chapter Master Arnius Killgar was the ork warboss of a deathskull clan. He led his orks into many a battle with the Ultramarines, due to his admiration of them. Bulked out in blue armor, they were sure to please their ork gods, and they put up a good fight. They were dead killy.
Killgars boyz took to looting the armor of the space marines, letting their Tekk-orks repair any damage and 'improve' them as the Mekk-gods pleased. Killgar outfitted the orks with the looted armor and weapons, and inforced vigorous drilling practices. The boyz were organized into squads and chapters, identical to a space marine chapter organization. They became known as the Ultra-Orks, and boasted supreme 'taktikal' abilities than other ork clans.
They ride into battle on looted rhinos and land raiders with their tops ripped off, to help with '
taktikal decisions', as the 'argz say. Any space marine armor looted is painted in a bright blue, and yellow trim in the case of the second battle krumpany. These were the older colors of the ultramarines, "back when they were better at krumpin'" Killgar will say. As deathskullz at heart, they believe the gods are pleased by the vivid blue, and figure they get a good kick out of the lads killing the enemy with the same gear and taktiks.

But all you have to worry about is that Arnius Killgar and his Ultra-Orks are here, N' they be lookin' to krump you!
----------------------------------------------------------------

Hey everyone! I'm new around this neighbourhood, but not to 40k. I've played and owned around 8 armies before, and have sold most of them off. I'm currently working on a huge daemon army, but don't have the funds for the gross amount of greenstuff needed, so while waiting to work on them I'm going to work on my Ultra-Ork army that's been sitting on the shelves for the better part of 2 years.

They started by me wanting a space marine army, without having to play a space marine army. I had tonnes of models as they were my second (or third, been too long) army played. I had just picked up a bunch of orks from an auction, and got to work.

I built up 1500 points of orks based around the theme of Half a battle Krumpany, and left them to gather dust. My goal is going to be painting the army in 500 point blocks per month (hopefully, we all know how that goes), and keeping you guys updated along the way!

I'll leave you guys a teaser for now, andtomorrow I'll get some pic's up of the built army, and I almost have the first squad fully painted, so look forward to seeing those by the end of the week.

WAAAAGGGHHHHH!!!!!

Re:The Ultra-Orks

Using the ork codex definatly, the final 1500 pt list (themed around half a battle company) is rougly going to look like this:

Ghazghkull - 'Arnius Killgar'
Old zogwort/warphead - That librarian the ultramarines have
3/4 Nobz with trukk - Command squad with rhino
5 Meganobz - Terminators
10 Lootas - Devistator squad
3x 10 shoota boyz with trukk - Taktikal squads with rhinos
3x Warbuggies - Attack bikes (assault marines are deployed either with jump packs or on bikes)
Battlewagon - land raider
Deff Dread - Dreadnought

Still playing around with the list, trying to represent everything half a battle company would have, and still keep an effective list.

Re:The Ultra-Orks

You ask for more, you shall recieve more!

Got out the army and took some pictures of what I had. For the full 1500 I'm gunna need another rhino and dreadnought, and a couple more devistater boyz. But here's the starting point, gunna be bringing you through them in more detail as I fix 'em up and paint them, 500 points at a time.

Overview

Rough 'Arnius Killgar

Wierdboy (Gunna be in first 500)

Command squad

Meganobz

The taktikal boyz (rhinos gunna get alot of tlc)

Lootas

Stormboyz (probably wont get used)

So the first 500 is gunna be the wierdboy, two taktikals in rhinos, and 3 meganobz! Almost done painting the first squad then gunna work on the rhino, pics soon hopefully!

Peace!

They look great. Very fun conversions, and those poses are perfect. I think the weird boy is my favorite, but Killgar is epic too. I'd like to suggest maybe switching two of the back banner icons in the command squad though. I think the skull and laurels would look better on the banna wava. I love the termis! Great poses.
