Mega Dread Scratchbuild - slow burner - My first blog!

Hey everybody! this is my first ever blog, so if things go wrong, don't blame me

For a while I have wanted to do a scratchbuild, and now I've cleaned out my room a while ago, I have found some pieces that I believe will make an awesome Mega Dread.
I do collect orks but my army is small (I spent too much time painting each model ). The Mega Dread by Forge World is awesome, but i don't have the money to buy it. Sooo... the only other option is to build one! Mine will definitely not be as good, but I plan to have a try .
So, now the pictures:

These are going to be the legs (can't remember what they're from. Thanks to my brother for letting me have them )

This is the (hopefully) moving gatelling gun ( my brother (same one) accidentally broke the wiring and it is proving difficult to solder together).

(space marine is for scale ^)

I have also recently gotten some plasticard, so it will also be my first time using it aswell

Many thanks,
tarar2d2

Automatically Appended Next Post:
More Pics!
(I said it was going to be slow, but the want to update is too much )

This is a picture of the body (badly) blue tacked together

This is just a top view to show you the shape that the body will (hopefully) become. It's a kind of nine sided shape.

Many thanks,
tarar2d2

I have finished sticking together the body (its not complete). I know its not really that good but:
1. It's my first time using plasticard
2. It's an ork vehicle, it doesn't need to look good
Anyway, on to the pictures:

This is just the body on it's own

This is the body with the legs. It's just to give you an idea (yes, that is my hand).

C&C welcome

Many thanks,
tarar2d2

Grass4hopper wrote:What is the gatling made from? I like the fact that not all the barrels point in the exactly the same direction. Very Orky.

Its made from the Bullet holding thing in a toy gun and needle lids (I do work experience at a vet, im not a drug user ). I got the motor from a project I did in technology at school long ago.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I've got some images of what i hope the finished thing will look like ( sorry for the fact they're blurry)

This shows the main body and the engine

This is meant to be a conveyor belt that comes out of the bottom and carries junk up to the main body.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
And here is the conveyor belt thing:

In the second image you can kind of see the junk in the conveyor belt's buckets

Mank thanks,
tarar2d2

Sorry for the lack of updates! My camera was out of battery and I had school work to do.

Anyway...
Here is an update on what I have done. I have added the 'scrap belt lifter thing' (if you can think of a better name then be my guest) to the bottom. These pictures show how it works:

With the shoota pushed it, the 'scrap belt lifter thing' cannot move down

However, when the shoota is moved, the 'scrap belt lifter thing' can go down (sorry for the sideways pic ).
Also, inside each bucket you can see some scrap which would be brought into the "BELLY OF THE BEAST!"

However the main body (which is what I'm assuming you're talking about) is just the base frame. If you were talking about the 'scrap belt lifter thing' ant the gun box, well irl they are pretty ruffed up.

Many thanks,
tarar2d2

P.S lexx108, I think that sounds like the correct thing. I sould really find out but I'm to lazy
