Red Scorpions - AOBR Dreadnought (weathering and battle damage)

Hi chaps!

I finished this converted AOBR dread recently for my upcoming Red Scorpions force.
This mini was painted in space wolves colours and some details were already missing so I went for some extensive weathing to hide most of the lost details.

As usual I took my airbrush for most of the work but also tried some regular brush blending on the yellow front stripes. Weathering was done with the casual sponge, some rust colours and vallejo pigments.
I kinda rushed this mini (as usual) so I was able to complete it in under 4 hours (excluding base, the dread is not fixed in the picture). I have another AOBR dread with a different layout and I'm reallly looking forward to paint it.

Comments and critics are highly appreciated!

Red Scorpions - AOBR Dreadnought (weathering and battle damage)

Nice work man...

But you asked for comments and criticizes, so i tried to figure out minor mistake on your paintjob (to help you, keep it clear).

The glow effect o the lass cannon look a bit monoromatic, and cartonish when looked from the front, i dont know how to make it better, maybe adding more white?

Still on the Lascannon, but not on paintjob, i think the "body" of the weapon, bofore the barrel, is to long and massive, i would have reduced the lengh of the barrel or the size of that massive piece.

For last, and thais imortant: your color scheme is not striking, i can see an yellow, but i can not see the contrast collor. It make a lot of diference in the table, as from afar the models seens to be "all the same color".

I hope to have not been to harsh, im not trolling on you, just trying to help... and your skill is amazing, without doubt

luck...

I ordered some from forgeworld and will add them later to get some red colour to the model.
My chosen scheme is exactly the one you can find in the Imperial Armour Badab War Books.

Rented Tritium wrote:So the damage is just sponge work? That's excellent!
