Is it possible to remove glue from parts of a large model?

I know that it's virtually impossible to remove glue from plastic models but I just bought an unpainted Tau Hammerhead from Ebay and whilst it's well put together they have glued the top and front turrets and engines in place but worst of all they have glued the drones on.

I'm really irritated because they didn't mention this in the item description or I wouldn't have bought it.

Does anyone know if a soaking in soap or anything is likely to soften the glue up so I can prod them free?

How much glue was used? If its caked in the stuff it would be hard to remove the drones without severe damage, but if its just in a few locations you could probably tear the things off.

place it in the freezer for 48 hours, the glue should become brittle and it should snap off by ease.

Re:Is it possible to remove glue from parts of a large model?

If its super glue try getting a cottonbud or some cottonwool soaked in acetone free nailpolish and just rubbing the hell out of it with that. Ive also heard freezing super glue makes it brittle so you might try that too and then twist or snap the offending parts off?

If its plastic glue then you may very well be boned in the removal department.

Thanks for the replies. I don't know what glue they used but I would think it's most likely plastic glue. I've tried twisting them but I think the whole front quarter could snap if I force it. I'll try leaving it in the fridge overnight as some of you mentioned in the hope that it's superglue otherwise I'll get some of the acetone free nail polish.

I'll let you know how it turns out.
