DnD Blog -Adventures in Crownport

For quite a long time in the middle of this year, I didn't paint at all. I was just too busy. I also had a bit of a mental block and didn't fancy painting marines or Eldar. I have, however, been playing a lot of DnD, including DMing. Now, some DMs do it all with a few wavy lines, counters, scraps of paper, and so on. In fact, my favourite campaign is just like that. When I DM though, I like to use the right models, published maps, etc. Even my inn has a set map, and regular staff and patrons...

I've been painting up some models to use on a regular basis. They'll also serve in some of my friend's games. They won't always be quite right but I think they'll add something...

Anyway, allow me to walk you through what I have...

This is my PC - Baltus. I have posted him here previously. He will also be serving as an incredibly powerful NPC in my own game, but he'll be getting killed by a marauding dragon soon enough...

This is an angry mob. Or, on other days, a bunch of gang members. Or sometimes bar patrons. Rough and ready paint jobs, but they'll serve well enough...

These guys are still WIP. Coop the bar manager, and the serving girls, Angie and Sully. They work as an inn variously known as Coop's, The Hanged Man and the Straw Man. Call it an homage to the Malazan Book of the Fallen.

Three strumpets who work Coop's. Also WIP, but closer to finished...

This nasty piece of work is the chef at Coop's. Little do the PCs yet realise he is also the leader of half the gang's in the city, some of which don't even realise that fact themselves.

Next up, some guard. They'll be my equivalent of redshirts. Sometimes they'll be on the PC's side, other times, not. One is finished, the rest are next on my list.

And finally, some elite guard, painted up to test colour schemes for my Astral Claws. Still WIP, obviously...

I'll be going back to my Badab War blog for a while next, but I wanted to get this Blog started.
