But I live in America! Why are you subjecting me to your weirdly logical system of measurement!?

Did you mean 1/8 x 1/16 inches?

Re:Magnetizing Marine Backpacks

Just the backpacks of grey knights?

Son... Have a look through this tutorial I made...

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/388439.page

It's 2mm x 1mm magnets that I used. That's a little over 1/16th of an inch. More like 1/12th, but I'm not sure that's even a size magnets come in over the great pond. E-bay should help you getting 2mmx1mm though... even if you live in the states.

Magnetizing Marine Backpacks

Eh I was joking about the metric system, should have made that more clear. By your pictures it 2mm magnets can easily fit on the backpacks and the back torso. Your tutorial is awesome by the way, thanks!

And yes, just the backpacks, I want my Strike Squads and Interceptors to be one and the same. They're both going to have all swords except for a hammer. Maybe I'd magnetizing the special weapons, just in case I want to use incinerators at some point.

Magnetizing Marine Backpacks

Ok,so I had some 1/8 inch diameter magnets lying around (3.17 mm) and they are actually too big to fit on the back of the marine's body (if I keep the nub the backpack rests on and drill the hole just above it, the magnet will be visible from overhead). The backpack itself can fit a 1/8 magnet ok, but not the torso. Dang.

So 1/8 ~ 3mm magnets are out. 1/16 I think would be too weak to hold it well. So I'd like to do 2mm.

Either I am stupid or it is very hard to find a 2mm drill bit in the United States. Anyone have any sites where I can buy a freaking 2mm drill bit?
