<![CDATA[Latest posts for the thread "New to Warhammer"]]> http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/65.page JForum - http://www.jforum.net New to Warhammer 40k, a buddy in my platoon (I'm in the Army) was talking 40k up and was showing us pictures on his smart phone and when he showed me pictures of the Tau and their battlesuits I said "oh, that looks like a MechWarrior, I use to play that game. Maybe I'll check that website out when I get home or something," so the next day he shows up at my house with a Tau Battleforce for free as long as I promise to play with him. I wasn't even sure I wanted to play as Tau, I just thought the Crisis suit looked like a 'Mech, but looks like Tau I will play. Right now I'm painting the Devilfish, but I'm having troubles with the vomit brown paint I'm using (doing a classic Tau scept paint scheme like the ones on the cover of the Codex), the vomit brown leaves a lot of brush strokes behind even after watering the paint down to the consistency of milk.

I haven't even played a game yet but I've already put way too much money into this buying all the paints from the local Games Workshop. I also bought a couple more Crisis Suits and a box of Fire Warriors and a Skyray at my friend's recommendation, but I haven't opened those up yet because I don't want to be flooded with models to paint - my wife isn't really supportive of this hobby and can't stand when I disappear into the garage to paint "toys."

Sounds like my first wife. We've been divorced for 8 years. I waited a while until I found Wife V2.0, which has the "Supports Husband's Hobby" upgrade.
