Wraithseer?

The wraithseer model looks awesome, so I read over the rules.
They seem pretty badass in close combat, but their 5+ invulnerable saves and high toughness means they'll attract a lot of high-strength fire.
Also their Greater Spiritseer ability only benefits ranged fire...which would be a waste of them. And their spells seem pretty rubbish, seems a shame they didn't get a couple of farseer spells.
Anyone ever used one in game? Presumably proxied but if someone has the model that'd be badass.

The modle is awesome but its Forge World and not usable in regular 40K games but if someone played a FW game I could see using it with a Spirit Host army maybe but for the points cost and pathetic magic spells its not cost affective.

Wraithseer?

Are you looking at the internet experimental rules or the rules in the Imperial armour apocalypse update book? There is a big difference as the book rules (official) are much better than the experimental rules! He is a 40k unit not an apocalypse unit but does need opponents permission.

I used mine only last night and he was great. Ok he missed with every D-Cannon shot but that is my dice rolling not his rules lol. He then proceeded to kill the Emperor's Champion in assault and allowed my other wraithlord to make it into combat by making him fleet, as well as pinning the Emperor's Champion and a unit of Templars with his psychic powers earlier on in the game. Expensive in points (225pts) and maybe not the most points efficient model on the table but good fun and nice to throw in every now and again!

Isengard wrote:Does the official rule stop him only being allowed in a force fielding those dogs of models (and vastly cash heavy) wraithguard?

Do you mean is he limited to being in an army that has wraithguard? If thats the question then yes. He needs at least one squad of wraith guard plus he counts as an hq but does not satisfy the chart so you'd have to buy another hq. So in a non-apoc game you could ony have 1.
