Re:1500 point eldar list (suggestions)

I would say that Fire Dragons almost always NEED to have a Wave Serpent, stuff just won't get within range if you can't move quickly. I would agree with the above poster who said you need to base an army around the Wraithguard if you're going to take them. Personally I would never take them, the gun isn't that much better than the Fusion Blaster and while a Wraithguard is much more resilient than a Fire Dragon they are also over twice the cost.

396 points gives you a strong squad of 10 Wraithguard with a Conceal Seer
287 points gives you a highly mobile squad of 10 Fire Dragons with an Exarch with a Dragons Breath Flamer and Crack Shot. The squad can easily decimate ANYTHING as the Fusion blasters will take out any single model and the Dragons Breath Flamer makes sure you get plenty of extra auto-hit wounds on a squad with rerolling any failed to wounds. AND they are all inside a Wave Serpent with Spirit Stones and TL Shuriken cannons that can increase the range of the Fire Dragons to over 24".

With that many Wraithguard you can try to herd enemies together, but the effectiveness is questionable on who you play and how you play. If you wanna use 'em then do it! But my other concerns are the Pathfinders. I have tried VERY hard to make them worth their points cost and they have rarely ever pulled through. I would recommend a squad of 3 GJB in one squad's place to save a few points and make them more mobile. Hold 'em in reserve and hide them till near the end of the game where you jet them out to the objective. Also I would suggest only using the Spiders if you can get more in the squad (even if it's only up to 7 which you would be able to fit in if you switched out those Pathfinders)
I would say that Eldrad is very necessary for this army! Put him inside the Falcon and keep the Falcon within 6" of the War Walkers and they are both guided and you can Fortune or doom other units as needed. I would switch the GuideSeer to a Fortune Seer with a Singing Spear and put him with the Wraithguard to make them even stronger!

The Falcon needs HoloFields, not star Engines as you need the tank to be able to take a lot of firepower, not to move quickly and not shoot.

1500 point eldar list (suggestions)

If you are spending that many points on wraithguard, which are required to be on foot. You might as well grab the Avatar of Khain. He's a steal at 155 for what he brings to the table. If you go that route, do not drop Eldrad, as you need fortune on both the Avatar and the Guard to protect your investment. Eldrad is Fine at 1500 points.

Also please don't put Fire Dragons in a Falcon. Long story short is that the Falcon has multiple heavy weapons, and dragons want to get close fast. This means they serve totally different roles and putting them together is bad. If you want a more detailed explanation take a look at my guide.

felixander is off the mark for 10 Dragons vs 10 Guard. Hes right that the dragons are faster and more damaging. But he is totally missing the point that Wraithguard are all about being Scoring. t6, fortuned saves, Wraithguard are one of the toughest troop choices in the game.

felixander's analysis is spot on however if you try to compare 5 wraithguard in a serpent to 5 dragons in a serpent. If wraithguard aren't troops they aren't good. But you recognize that.

If you do get an Avatar, might as well swap those Pathfinders for guardians. Pathfinders are pretty bad, and you could afford 20 fearless bodies, 2 heavy weapons and a warlock for conceal shenanigans for the same points.

Grab the duel death spinners for the Warp Spiders, 5 points to double your shots at bs5 is awesome.

Enemy has a SM Landraider, no prolem, hit it ten times with one Wraithguard squad, if it has assault termies in it, no problem, bang-em with the other 10 troop choice wraithguard squad. Well, at least thats my tactics with eldar against a full heavy armor spacewolf - kid just doesnt get the point.

Actualy to the army list. Wouldnt take it. Would have a few years ago, bot not now and never again.
the 2*5 pathfinders are good if you can get-em in to cover (love that 2+ cover saves) 2 different targets, harder to hit, can lay on the two sides of the battlefield - and hope the enemy wont deep strike...not my luck, so i dont use pathfinders.

if your not on a fast and mobile assault and support build, i'd leave those spiders at home. Nice s6ap- armorsave alowed no bigy, s6 can instakill IGEQ if hit a lot of times. but then, i'd just be takeing EMLs, blast, big blasts and Eldrict Storm. Not for spiders, esp if their not a whole sqad. Ok, 8+exarch, i'd go with. That still packs a punch.
If you want mobile, get 10DA exarch included with an assault4 catapult and bladestorm. s4ap5. yeah. and 9*3+1*5 attacks, thats a lot. Do it from 18", cover your squad with the serpent from other unites but the target if possible, unleashe havoc and if you dont have other support unites, pray they dont charge 12". Not many do that today...
Outfit your serpent - mentioned above - with weapons for the enemy. MEQ, scatter laser. IGEQ, scatter laser. Counting on heavy IG armor, would say BL.

Falcon: do NOT buy star engine except for apocalypse. U dont need it. You move 18" flat out, get 4+ cover save, only being hit on 6+ in cc, but you are in the face of the enemy. Forget it. Grab a holofield instead if you can.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
on a nother point im going to take wraithdar army vs spacewolves, one of my friends just started with 'em.
My build:
1 farseer spear, stone, RoWi, Fortune, Doom + 1 Spiritseer with conceal + spear + 10 wraithguards
1 farseer spear, stone, RoWi, Fortune, Doom, Mindwar + 1 Spiritseer with conceal + spear +10 wraithguards
3 wraithlords with 1-1 Brightlance and a Wraithsword each, flamers on the arm.

this is a starting game for him, and he told me what hes going to bring. Sadly. He'll learn...or i will. But thats the point of practice and i'll need new dice.
1499pt's.
Fortune on the guards, lance the enemy tanks, keep lords up front for assault target and then 10shot the raider 3+ glance 5+pen.
And if the farseer is in range, Mindwar the Jainzar or whats that HQs name.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
or, maybe you could outfit an aoutarch with Laser lance, a mandi blaster and a JB, put him in a group of 4 Shining spears (inc Exarch) with a withdraw and a guide-war-fortune seer on jb with stones and witnessing for a so far 307 pt
spirit stone on first round may fly away, unless you get'em ground units with one of your vipers squads.
so a vyper squad with scatter laser of 3 models, and a nother squad of 3 with BL, and ofc all come with spirit stones - mostly, you want to stay far from the enemy and only attack if youre shure of the outcome, or at least 75% sure. 210 and 255 pt
Put in 2 squads of 5 model Firedragons (exarch, firepike) in Wave serpents outfited with spirit stones and a twin scatter laser. dragons: 100, serpent 125, equal 225, for 2 squads, thats 450 pt
For a last touch, add a squad of 6 GJB with a destro lock and 2 cannons (217pt) and a sq of pathfinders of 5 models(120). 2 HQ, 3 Fast, 2 Elite and 2 troop, one of which is an assault interceptor, until others can arive to aid. Yep, talkin bout the GJB.

First turn, use fortune on Spears, guide on one of the vyper squads, pending on nmy tanky or infantry based, zip up with your bikes(4+ cover, fortune), leaving the GJB(normal 4+ cover, 3+ armor) close to the pathfinders, who are in cover hence 2+ cover savers from front, andrews zippy up to then midle with your dragons(Front, side 12, energy shield, limiting the power of the hits and a 4+ cover save each).
Pending on enemy-occupied type, start with guided on spears...ahh, but this is tactica already my bad XD
all in all, its still inder 1500pf - about 1460 or 1470 - and you can still add or take some.
