Question about display basing

Hey guys so ive recently got back into the hobby and have decided to stick to painting without any gaming (never enjoyed that part of the hobby).

But i digress, because i want to focus on painting, i want to go for display quality and that means display bases.

By display bases i mean the wooden blocks the model normally sits on, and my question being where do i buy these from? Or do i have to make them myself?

Thanks
-Cry

Question about display basing

Wooden coasters are pretty easy to pick up and you can find them in a variety of sizes. Turn them upside down, sand them, paint them black, varnish. You get a set for the same cost as buying a single. You can even stack smaller ones on bigger ones if you want extra height. Wooden furniture feet and drawer knobs from your local DIY store also worth looking into.

Re:Question about display basing

I'd say check your local DIY store - all kinds of useful things for basing there made of wood. Also look around craft/hobby type stores - they usually have a range of bases you can use - I got the one I used here

[/img]http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f255/steelcult/PestControl1.jpg[img]

at a chain hobby store here in the states.

Question about display basing

i saw some of these somewhere online a little while ago but I cant bloody remember where now sorry.

The other thing you could do it look for wood turning blanks, youd have to finish them yourself, but they will be top quality pieces of wood
