Astropolis/Saturn Returns/Earth Ascendant fandex idea

So if any of you have read these books and liked them, or have read them and not enjoyed them even, I'd love your input on my current plan. It will take a while, as I am travelling round England atm, and have neither the books with me or any of my 40k material, just a notepad, my laptop and my trusty internet stick (which they call a bongle here for god knows what reason). Anywho, I was thinking of structuring it along these lines (and some of the names will be wrong or will just have a letter, e.g. 'That guy whose name starts with R'. I don't have the books with me, so any input is helpful). So I will probably spend the next month of travelling just planning and what not, and get the real nitty gritty writing down when I get home, but if I happen across someone/a good internet connection (which is likely) I may just burn the midnight oil and write it here. Why? Because sleep is for the weak (I kid, I love the stuff).

Sadly, until I get some better net this will be incomprehensible to someone who hasn't read the books (hell, to someone who hasn't read them recently even) but that will be rectified over this week, with names being corrected and force org slots having a bit of an explanation.

So here is my (painfully rough) sketch
HQ
0-1 forts; these were almost like hive mind creatures, they were able to watch the years pass in a blink of an eye, and controlled 'frags', which were basically drones

Singletons; maybe the wrong word, but the 'best' for lack of a better word kinda person who has clones. clones are common in this future universe, and singletons are often augmented as well, able to 'overclock' or 'underclock' as occasion demands. It would allow them a kind of 'regeneration' roll to stave off death, or something alone those lines (perhaps a new one comes on from reserves) to show that there are more than one.

Elites
the company/whatever; The name of a mercenary company which the main character is a part of. I forget its title, but it is a very simple name (like 'the company') if memory serves. They will be a 'weaker' squad of singletons. hence elites.

Old timers; maybe not the write title, but I mean those who have been kicking around for a loooong time like Imri's mate. They are a bit spaced out at times, but have the wisdom of centuries. Could work in a similar way to lone wolves (minus the bloodthirstiness and KP stuff), wolf guard or C'Tan even (obviously not as powerful, no fancy powers, I mean just as a lone island. so maybe lone wolf is a better analogy).

Troops
frags; can't be taken without forts. They will be similar to guardsmen, poor in ability, large in number, and will suffer if the fort dies, similar to the ethereal rule but will take casualties as they go mad with the loss (its in the books, happens when the slow wave catches up with the ship they are on, the frags just flip)

Primes; I think that is the name for the other kind of human (well the other common kind). I will make them a basic human with some augmentations and access to some fancier weapons.

Fast Attack
The drones which attack one of Imri's clone's (I think the anti-fort clone's) men. Will work in a similar way to Tau Gun Drones

Heavy Support
Haven't the foggiest, this is where I need some help/the books to go back over

Special Characters
Imri Bergamesc (or something like that is the main characters name I think)
Old Timer, friend of Imri's (dude with R as the first letter of his name)

Upgrade Characters
Ideas? Looking for one for the company, one for the Primes, one for the Drones (I think they had a personality, if not, then no)

Special rules;
overclocking;(only for old timers, company, singletons and special characters who are members of the company) similar to warptime but with a DT test (allowing invo saves)

underclocking; (only for forts)
something to do with deployment/reserves to show how they can see things passing in a completely different way to normal people

the thin suits they wear; Skinsuits or something, they can deal with being in the vacuum of space, so maybe some resistance against heat weapons or something, haven't thought about this one too much

Ok so sorry for the vagueness, I will correct it, but basically it will be a force which can be built in one of 2 ways.

Fort led; a Horde army with masses of frags as the core, backed up by some drones to zip around and maybe an old timer/a company to infiltrate and cause some mischief

Singleton led; Elite-ish army, one or two companys and an old timer as the main punch, some primes to hold objectives/support the advance

Weapon data will follow later, but they will be kind of in between bolters and lasguns, and the elites/singletons will be quite deadly in HTH combat because of their augmetics/speed

Ideas I need;
Heavy support, transports

Cheers. I'm really looking forward to this, it'll be fun
