Canoness
In addition to a Canonness’ normal selections for wargear, you may also select an order that the Canoness commands over. These selections grant her a static buff to herself and allow certain units in her army to have access to an additional act of faith.

Order of the Sacred Rose:
Founded in honor of Saint Mina, they are known for their orders incredible success under Saint Aspira in an impressive crusade to liberate almost a hundred worlds with only a thousand of their warriors.

15 points: The canoness, wearing the Cloak of Saint Aspira, has a 2+ armor save
Any Unit in her army who has access to an Act of faith has this Act in addition:
Forged in Battle: The unit gains a +1 increase in armor save till the end of the phase.

Order of our Martyred Lady:
Led by Saint Katherine, The order of Our Martyred Lady is renowned for the emotions they feel at the loss of each sister. Also known as The Shield Bearer, their founder is perhaps the strongest warrior the Adepta Sororitas have ever known.

10 points: The canoness’s fury is so great, she has +1 Strength
Any Unit in her army who has access to an Act of faith has this Act in addition:
Emperor’s Fury: The unit gains +1 strength till the end of the phase.

Order of the Valorous Heart:
With Saint Lucia at their head, the Order of the Valorous Heart are tenacious, even moreso than their kindred orders. Following their founders lead, the sisters under the red hearted banner fight hard and give nothing to their enemies, even under torture.

10 points: The canoness gains +1 toughness.
Any Unit in her army who has access to an Act of faith has this Act in addition:
Unyeilding Faith: The unit gains +1 Toughness till the end of the phase

Order of the Sacred Rose:
Founded in honor of Saint Arabella the Liberator, The order of the Sacred Rose is the only order that does not know the true fate of their founder. Their desire to recover this knowledge has led them to recovering a great number of holy relics.

15 points: The canoness gains Inferno bolts in her Bolt pistol and Boltgun
Any Unit in her army who has access to an Act of faith, or is a vehicle who possesses the shield of faith special rule, has access to this Act in addition:
Relics of the past: The unit may re-roll wounds caused by boltguns, bolt pistols, storm bolters, or heavy bolters. OR The unit may re-roll wounds caused by Flamers, Hand Flamers, or Heavy flamers. Till the end of the phase.
(Vehicles, or more accurately, their pilots succeed on a 4+ for their test of faith)

Order of the Ebon Chalice:
The Patron and most honored Saint Alicia Dominica lead the Brides of the Emperor, ended the tyranny of Goge Vandire, and with her as leader saw the creation of the Adepta Sororitas as they are today. It is said that Saint Dominica survived hundreds of wounds before a single lasgun blast found a weakness in her armor.

20 points: The canoness gains +1 wound
Units do not gain a new Act of faith but instead gain this ability:
The Truth of the Emperor: Any time a unit rolls a 6 on a successful Act of Faith, they regain 1 faith point.

Order of the Argent Shroud:
Leading the Order of the Argent Shroud, Saint Silvana lead some of the Sororitas first crusades in the name of the Emperor. Although her death came as the hands of an assassin, her order still carries on her great focus on the purging of heretics.

15 points: The canoness gains +1 to her invulnerable save granted from shield of faith or a rosarius.
All vehicles in the army gain the ability to use the following act of faith:
Eternal Crusade: The vehicle can ignore the effects of immobilized OR gains a 5+ invuln save until the end of the phase.

These are only ideas, of course. I’m just theorizing on how the differences between orders of sisters of battle could be conveyed. Instead of doing what spaces marines do, having completely different warriors and rules of their own, the sisters have different faith powers based on what their orders are known for, and of course, the canoness gets a nice touch herself which, were they real, GW could make a number of new single model boxes for us to buy.

Decidedly, you could take two canonesses, from separate orders, to have access to a plethora of acts of faith much like how the sisters used to have their faith powers, but this would deny you access to Arch Kirimov for the faith die re-roll, a ability that would be particularly useful the more often you’re likely to use faith powers.

I didn’t want to just have a canoness grant you more faith points her turn, but that was an Idea I had toyed around with (and where ebon chalices power came from) I doubt any of the point costs I came up with are balanced in anyway, but I didn’t want them to be free.
