Orcs and Goblins vs Warriors of Chaos *Updated*

Hey all, first of all I couldn't decide between this forum or army list but since i'm mostly gonna talk about tactics I figured that this is the best place for my thread, but mods are free to move it.

Alright, so - i'm going to play against a newbie friend soon who is interested in WHFB and WoC! Luckily for him I actually got a little WoC army which i'm slowly building on but it really is small. Anyway, we talked about how the game would look like and he wanted to try a little of everything that he was interested in which is cavalry, magic and a really tough general/killer/slayer etc. So now i've been building on a list which is made for fun and we are going to play with house rules aka we don't really care about the 25% lord stuff etc. So this is what I got at the moment -

Warriors of Chaos

Spoiler:

Lords – 350pts
Chaos Lord
Chaos Runesword
Mark of Khorne
Acid Ichor
Trickster’s Helm
Shield

Heroes – 170pts
Chaos Sorcerer
Lvl 2 Wizard
Mark of Tzeentch (will use Fire lore though, but will keep the other bonuses from MoT. House-rules, heh.)
Disc of Tzeentch
Dispel Scroll
Enchanted Shield
Sword of Battle
Power Familiar (Giving this one to him for free as a little newbie bonus.)

Core Units – 555pts
12 Warriors
Musician
Champion
Additional Hand Weapon
Mark of Nurgle
Banner of Rage

12 Warriors
Musician
Champion
Shield
Mark of Tzeentch
Wailing Banner

Special Units – 545pts
5 Knights
Mark of Khorne
Champion
Banner of Swiftness

4 Chaos Ogre's
Mark of Khorne
Mutant
Chaos Armor
Great Weapon

Orcs and Goblins

Spoiler:

Lords – 260pts
Black Orc Warboss
Wizarding Hat

Heroes – 251pts
Goblin Big Boss
Spider Banner
Short Bow

Savage Orc Big Boss
Armor of Fortune
Great Choppa

Core Units – 627pts
40 Big'Uns
Additional Hand Weapon
Musician
Boss
Razor Standard

19 Night Goblins
Musician
Boss
Netters
3 Fanatics

Special Units – 400pts
20 Black Orcs
Musician
Boss
Banner of Swiftness

Orc Boar Chariot
Additional Crew

The points are pretty equal. I could add more units to my Orc list but I wanted to balance it out a little bit and make it easier for him and harder for me to win the game. He wanted to battle archers so I gave him some archers and he wanted to battle some tough troops so I gave him some tough troops! Anyway, what do you guys think? Does these two lists look fairly balanced and a good start for a newbie to begin with?

Also, I would love to lower the amount of magic items but as I said i'm pretty short on WoC models so I wanted to make it as epic as possible.

UPDATED -
I changed the lists quite a lot. The core units are pretty much the same except that I removed Banner of Wrath from the Tzeentch Warriors and gave them Wailing Banner instead. I think that lvl 2 Wizards are the way to go instead of starting with lvl 4's. I removed my Dispel Scroll but decided that he could keep his scroll. I also added 4 Chaos Ogre's to the list and I will buy, paint and glue them together soon.

Rules of the game

Spoiler:

Last man standing! Also, there will be 3 possible objects that you can take which will increase your whole army's power!
1. Offering to Khorne (Right side of the field) - Increases your Attack by 1. All you have to do is to run 4" with any unit or character and your whole army has it.
2. Dwarf Tomb (Middle of the field) - increases your LD by 3, up to a maximum of 10. All you have to do is to run 4" with any unit or character and your whole army has it.
3. Offering to Gork (Left side of the field) - +1 Ward Save to all your units. All you have to do is to run 4" with any unit or character and your whole army has it.
If both players have a unit at the object then no one will have it. You don't actually need to keep a unit at the object to keep the buff -- once you have touched it it's yours. But if you leave the object then the other player can take it and the player who had the buff will lose the buff.

So, what do you guys think?

With the lists you just posted the orcs will annihilate the WoC and doing that to a newbie player is just bad for the hobby. He needs more warriors and marauders, playing two warbosses will really frustrate him as they will destroy his warriors and knights without a problem. You should also lose the fanatics as you are trying to show him the game and that is a cheap shot on a new player. I am just looking at both lists and I see a lot of tricks both sides could do and your opponent wont know any of his armies tricks or what your army can do and so this wont be a fair match or any fun for the new player.

Thanks for the advice(s). As for the Chaos Lord I will keep him as he is. While it's true that your Chaos Lord is stronger than my Chaos Lord I won't change him anyway. I decided to make him as killy as possible to please my friend. I won't use the Infernal Puppet to my newbie friend since it can be pretty confusing but otherwise I would use it since it's sooo good.

praetorian_aak wrote: With the lists you just posted the orcs will annihilate the WoC and doing that to a newbie player is just bad for the hobby. What do you think of it now? I will keep the Fanatics though. I will inform my friend that my Night Goblins are dangerous and that he should be careful to approach them, but I won't tell him why they are dangerous. I won't run close to him with my Night Goblins, he will have to run to them and with all his Chaos Armor models they won't really be much of a threat anyway when it comes to shooting.
