Now if you have ever played as, or against skaven, you know it takes a lot of models, especially if you are using slaves. And I honestly was getting tired of painting rats, so I got to thinking... Who ever said skaven slaves actually have to be skaven. It seems perfectly reasonable to me that the skaven would enslave anyone they got their hands on. So with that idea in mind, I have been picking up some random boxes of units that have the same size base, and am going to paint them up really dirty and ragged looking, then use them as skaven slaves. For now i've got some Gnoblar, and empire state troops. I have read the Thranquol & Boneripper series, and when the Grey Seer Thranquol needed slaves he usually bought human slaves as he despise humans more then anything plus they are cheap as they die alot faster then rats (Humans aren't as resiliant as rast apereantly).
