				<title>Dawn of War 3 story and starting races?</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Lets say there are 5 starting races for <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(324);'>DoW</span> 3 instead of 4 since they said it's suppose to be much bigger. In your opinion which starting races should they start with? and what should the story be about?<br /> <br /> Here is my starting race list<br /> 1. Chaos<br /> 2. Necron<br /> 3. Tyranid<br /> 4. Ork<br /> 5. Imperial Guard<br /> <br /> Story - Orks and tyranids would be the starting enemies for the imperial guards, chaos and necron comes later as the bigger threat. Near the end your forces realize chaos is the biggest threat after they successfully summoned a extremely powerful lord of change and hordes of daemons. The necron overlord decides to ally with the imperial guards to stop this demonic threat.<br /> <br /> This is my story and starting army for the game, how about yours?]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Starting faction: Imperial Guard<br /> This is the tutorial mission. In charge of a single squad of guardsmen and a Chimera you make your way to the front lines to deliver a meltabomb to use against an Ork rok that has fallen uncomfortably close to the front lines. Thoughout which you are told about what's happening on the planet and the sector over comms chatter, deal with a few small ork threats, and work to complete the mission. You place the meltabomb, retreat and detonate it, only to find the ork rok akin to a bees nest full of boyz.<br /> <br /> First mission: Ork assault<br /> Your first real mission in group tactics and warfare, you command a group of boyz and eventually some bikes, and assault back through the encampment you were navigating through as guardsmen just a few moments ago. Meaning you'll likely know where to go without the need for arrows, although they'd still be provided if necessary. Your goal is killing the enemy commander in your area, which you eventually accomplish.<br /> <br /> Second mission: Space Marine arrival<br /> Some time passes between the orks victory over the planet and the arrival of the (insert favorite flavor of marines) the marines intend to re-claim the planet with a brutal quick acting strike. You are introduced to jump infantry, drop pod abilities, and a few other tasty marine units like the dreadnought. Your force navigates the fog of war for the first time, recovring more and more units until you have a force able to destroy the ork leaders on this planet. Only after the orks are dealt with do the marines realize the main waaagh has moved on, and conquered other planets. The marines arrived out of the warp FAR too late.<br /> <br /> Third mission: Eldar Schemes<br /> Introduced to the sector map and level selection, eldar farseers are conversing between each other about the recent arrival of the space marines in the middle of the ork's claimed territory. They also show where the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(533);'>IoM</span> are fighting the orks. The eldar managed to stay out of the orks way thanks to cloaking, but are also surrounded by the green menace. Their mission entails teaching and using stealth,gathering resources, and building factories and forces.<br /> <br /> Fourth Mission: Necron awakening<br /> When the orks claimed the planet the eldar just re-claimed in the last mission, non of the present technology was enough to rouse the necrons sleeping within, but the eldar tech set off their sensors. Learning to use vehicles, as well as fighting against them, you lead a necron force against the eldar base. Awakened to the threats in the sector, the necron begin their conquest of the area, so that it can be pacified and they can return to slumber.<br /> <br /> The tutorial mission ends, and you are pesented with your choice of army to play the game with. The Guard, Orks, Space marines, Eldar, or Necron. <br /> <br /> As a plot twist, however, in the orks haste, they didn't leave much defenses behind them as the invaded planets. The space marines, eldar, and necron make use of this fact in some of the early missions, but the Tyranids are the real benefactors of this negligence. Devouring along the trail of the ork Waaagh, the nids find a number of weak but very tasty planets. Depending on the missions you choose to act in, your army will have certain allies in the last fight against the Nid hordes, while your efforts will be disrupted by the side you fought against. (i.e. if you chose orks, you might end up with space marines as your temporary buddies against the nid horde, but the eldar deep strike in during yoru last fight and attempt to disrupt you, so that they can deal with the nids in their own way.) Defeating the Nids with any army also unlocks the nid mission path.<br /> <br /> Then again, the Guard (beyond their first mission) the necrons, and the nids might all be DLC. Since games love to do that to players nowadays.<br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>TL</span>;DR Guard, Orks, Marines, Eldar, Necron, Eventually Nids.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I think:<br /> <br /> Space Marines<br /> Chaos<br /> Orks<br /> Eldar<br /> Tyranids<br /> <br /> Space Marines, Orks, and Chaos are ALWAYS featured in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span> games.... ALWAYS. Eldar have also been featured in the all the previous <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(324);'>DoW</span> games <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(70);'>IIRC</span> and are a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span> staple going back to the days of Rogue Trader. Tyranids because that is what the fan base always begs for the most (thats why they were in DOW2...)]]></description>

DoW2 got very stale as they were the exact same as the races in DoW1.<br /> <br /> 1) Space Marines (Needs to be in sadly)<br /> 2) Death Korps of Krieg  (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span>, but gives a different playstyle to make it more unique) [Expansion race]<br /> 3) Eldar (this needs to be in sadly)<br /> 4) Orks (Same as above)<br /> 5) Chaos (Death Guard or Emperors Children would give a unique playstyle)<br /> 6) Inquisition/Grey Knights (gives good plot points when combined with Chaos) [Expansion race]<br /> 7) Necrons (with their new stuff) [Expansion race]<br /> <br /> Make the plot begin with Ork attacks, leading to Chaos being found...and the interest of the Inquisition being drawn.  Finally, Necrons awake.]]></description>

They really use that one a lot.<br /> <br /> Dawn of War 1: the Marines are called in to fight off an Ork Waaagh! on their recruitment planet. It later turns out that both Eldar and Chaos are in the background.<br /> Winter Assault: the Imperial Guard and the Eldar fight on a world ruled by feral Orks and Chaos Space Marines. It later turns out that the Necrons are sleeping under the planet's surface, and start to awaken when the forces of order reach the Titan.<br /> Dawn of War 2: the Marines are called in to fight off an Ork Waaagh! on their recruitment worlds (again). It later turns out that the Eldar were guiding the Orks in order to slow down an oncoming Tyranid Hive Fleet.<br /> Space Marine: the Marines are called in to fight off an Ork Waaagh! on an Imperial forge world. It later turns out that Chaos Space Marines were behind it all along.<br /> <br /> Even Chaos Rising and Retribution have elements of it. It always starts off with the heroes fighting one threat until a more menacing one shows up at the end (Kyras and his daemon form). I guess the Orks are just a good excuse as any to get the Marines into the story. <img src="/s/i/a/baf5f2e54c6b17d5c5d39aecadfa1272.gif" border="0">]]></description>
